im sure this has been covered but i couldnt find anything on it. i have the cassette player right now and i was wondering if the stock headunits wiring is the same or do you have to modify the wiring harness? any help on this would be appreciated

It doesn't matter if it's a tape or CD HU. It wouldn't make sense for GM to make entirely different wiring harnesses just because one car had a tape HU and another a CD HU.

in newer cars yes, but deffinetely not in any f-body. swap em out it will be fine as long as you put the right one in. you can put like a monsoon cd player in a base model car, etc

Yea you're definitely fine...all the same from the harness - only mounting issues/sizes could be different sometimes. Other than that, Monsoon and base model HUs are exactly the same -- both Delco HUS - only differences is some Monsoon system HUs had Monsoon stickers on the Delco unit (nothing at all different about the HU itself though in comparison to the other Delco HUs on base systems).

You should be fine if you are replacing it with a factory headunit with the bose provisions.

Should you want to go aftermarket the wiring harness is the same (GM02B) but Bose systems do not have a remote turn on wire (meaning you'll get no bass, at all) Don't half-*** it. Bypass the amp.

I pulled my bose trash and am running 4 infinity kappa perfect 6.5's off of an infinity 4 channel. Pioneer 6800MP Deck. Sounds Amazing.

Just re-read initial post and I may have been misleading....by Bose you mean pre-97 systems, correct? I accidentally took it as Monsoon systems after '97 since so many people refer to Monsoon as Bose for some reason.

I see you have a '95 though, so you actually are referring to the Bose system.
