any ideas?

first off thanks for all the help in this forum with my beginner questions okay i just bought a sony MEX-5DI head unit. you know the one with that small tft screen on it. i need ideas though on how to set it up. it needs an amp since it does not have one. could someone please recommend on which one to get and where to hide it? i don't want it out in the open cause people steal too much down here. thanks!

What speakers do you need to power with the amplifier? The stock ones, or aftermarket ones? If you currently have the stock ones, do you plan to upgrade to aftermarket ones later?

I would say look into the JBL 80.4. It's fairly small, and it's really thin. Maybe 1.5 inches. It should be very easy to hide under the drivers side seat. Unless you can find something to fit under a seat, then it will have to go in the rear well area somewhere.

I don't think there's enough space to put it under the passenger side seat. But, under the seat mounting will get it somewhat warm because of the lack of airspace around it, but it shouldn't ever be anywhere near danger levels.

That JBL amp should be great for powering the factory speakers, but i would mount it somewhere besides under the seat... i know i have no room under mine, and itis bound to get really scratched up.
