To amp or not to amp?
Yea I have seen that thread.... it doesn't answer my question -- is the factory amp capable of powering 2 ohm tweeters safely since all factory TWEETERS are of 4 ohm impedances.
Also, whoever wrote that thread is incorrect in assuming that everything is crossed already. It is not. The signal from the amp is a full signal, and there is no filer in the line....only AT the tweeter is where the capacitor is to pass the high freqs only. Anyways...you should always use the crossover supplied with your component set because it was designed for those speakers only. Not all cross at the same range and not all speakers may be able to handle the crosses from another set.
