I'm sure that after six years of unrestrained (and justified) criticism of GM, a single glowing review of one model tucked in as an endnote will make all the hurt feelings go away. Yep, it couldn't possible be due to the fact that the CTS-V has the same traits that car guys look for in American iron - a strong V8, manual trans, and distinctive styling. You may wish to check your Armada for exhaust leaks. That'd explain a lot.
If for some reason I were to spend $55K on a new sports sedan, the CTS-V would be my choice. It'd be like my Impala, but without the harsh ride, maintenance hassles, and creaky interior. The real genius is that the LS6/T56 likely adds virtually no additional cost over the 3.6/5L40E, and yet even after the big markup it still looks like a bargain. It's on a very short list of modern used cars that I might be interested in purchasing in another few years.
