Of course. And, welcome aboard! It's a slow process, but one by one, people are starting to get hip to their agenda. I pick them up when I go to the doctors office, and I always know what to expect from them..............the same tired *** BS! It is nice to see them in the same boat as the la/ny slimes, I must admit! Having to offer almost give away deals, just to get new subscribbers. It shows me that people are seeing through the sea of BS, and are getting tired of it. P.S. nice 2nd gen Pete!

No problem, I always loved the look of em'. BTW, that 4th gen is pretty nice as well! Overwhelmingly this is the question I get, most of all, when I bring up my 2nd gen! Is it a split bumper? NO. I happen to like the split bumpers.......on a standard from end! My car actually had it when I got it, but it wasn't original, and it was all rotten anyway, so I took it off, and put the standard nose on it. It is a real Z/28, though it ain't done yet.

I picked up a Motor Trend subscription for the first time a few months back -- I'll be letting that one lapse. Not only do the writers have trouble forming a valid sentence, but the graphics guys like to put dark blue text on black backgrounds. The layout is horrible! That said, the datalogging and 3D virtualization stuff they do is pretty cool. Of course, I don't need the magazine to view that.

I'm keeping my C&D subscription. I can get past a little bias. I like specs and pretty pictures, and at least those guys can write a complete sentence and cobble together a readable layout. I'm still getting used to the new spec sheet layout, but I don't see anything inherently wrong with it.

I'm planning on getting a subscription to GMHTP, and I'm fine cannibalizing my father-in-law's subscriptions to Car Craft and Hot Rod when he's done with them.

Next time you're in Michigan, let me take you for a ride in my 1993 Buick Regal 3800 with 156,000 miles on the clock, or my 2000 Bonneville SE with 130,000.

The Regal is showing some age, but it runs and drives like it did 14 years ago. The Bonneville, which is admittedly a long way from being 10 years old or having 200k on the clock, is as good as new.

Anyway, after that, I'll take you for a ride in my '87 Buick. Even though it only has 30,000 miles on it, I think you'll still be impressed with the build quality.

A couple years ago I had a 1993 Civic EX coupe. Bought it with 160k on the clock, beat the hell out of it for two years, and it quit at 195k. Ran fine right until the end, though. The only problem I had with it (besides the engine quitting on me at 193k) was that at 70mph, a 10mph crosswind would toss the car around, making it seriously uncomfortable to drive on a windy day.

I thought it was a compliment too.

I think it just comes off as a "compliment" with an under-lying tone to it .

I think if the same article were written for a Toyota or Honda, it would be:

"STILL running after all these miles! "

vs.

"STILL running after all these miles?? "

... see how the tone sounds different??
