LS1 3rd Gen Progress...(PICS)

Hello eveyone knows that we are doing it...Here are a couple brief pics of whats going on with the car, hopefully the engine and trans mounts will be in on Friday to go into the car. It took me some time to prep/paint that rear end while the old man did the fuel system, other then that its just been pressure washing and waiting on parts...Hope you like the pics just go to the link for my page and see a couple more then I got posted here...
Later,
Brad
BTW-Yes we had to put the 98 gas tank in for OBD2 compliance so thats why we took the time to just clean up the rest, plus it looks much better...I cant wait to get that thing running...
Couple more pics on my web page...Later

You got the bay that clean with a pressure washing! What kind of soap or magic did you use? Looking at that pic actually makes me want to go do it. To bad it's 4am here. Car looks bad *** man. What are you goin to do with the L98 sitting next to the garage door?

Hey thanks for the compliment. I used some grease remover I got at the local Costco along with some really really high strength grease remover I got from work (I do carpet cleaning). Then I just let it soak some, hit it with a stiff bristle brush and then washed it all. That 305 by the door is for sale, it comes with a T5 as well that has a new Mcleod Clutch, the ECM, but no harness since I am using part of it for the new setup. The engie has 100,000k on it and has a cam, pulleys and thats about all. We want $600 for the engine and trans both as a complete package along with a y-pipe w/new cat. But yea!
Thanks,
Brad

Thanks we are running stock 98 LS1 manifolds, y-pipe (it it fits) and then a Flowmaster cat back, since that was already on the car.

Your car looks sweet man. People ar'nt going to know what they are in for when they tangle with you. I was wondering how long it would take someone to do this swap. This is the first one that i personally have heard of.(Or am I just living under a rock) Any way keep us updated with pics and definetly some track times when you get it done. Looks Awesome !!!!

Thanks guys, I will keep you all updated. Redd here are a couple links to some others who did the swap. The only thing is they didnt have to do it to California emission standards, which I do. But here you can see how they did it.

Brad,
I just got done reading through the links you put up.That was cool of you.Thank You. I am thinking in the future after I get out of school i will have to do the same thing to a 3rd gen.It won't be the one I own now as I have other plans for that. I was also thinking about dropping in a LT-1 in my Mustang. I like the car and it would p!ss off the ford guys too . or I could just wait and find a 3rd gen hardtop to do it to.Now if only the guy I sold my first 89 RS V-6 Camaro would sell it back to me I would be all set but he won't. I also would'nt have to comply with the emission laws either ( Thank God). Like I said before, Good luck on yours and keep us posted. It looks like it will be real sweeettttttt when you are done with her.
