Why is the Ute not being called the Chevy El Camino? Consider this.....
For comparison, the Holden Monaro CV8 at introduction cost just under $58,000AUS. Minus the included 10% tax, and that put the car at around $52,000 or roughly $37,000 US dollars at the time.
So when is this due?
This is something I'd actually consider as a DD if it were out right now. I'd like to get a light duty pickup for the ability to carry crap from Lowe's and so forth, but I don't want to have to drive a pickup every day...

BTW: You asked a "set-up" question. I already stated that I intend to buy a Ute, but you asked a question where the answer was previously stated and forced a choice of the Ute & a new Camaro (on a Camaro enthusiasts website) in a very weak attempt to call unfavorable attention to my obvious reply or position for a future unfavorable post based on my reply.
Not a good idea if you know me.

I remember 2004 models in the $23K price range in late 2004. I never again saw them below about 27.5K with the LS2 engine. I think you could get one now for about that price, or close to it. There are still some left over at local BPG dealers. But with the new G8 coming....
Yeah, I paid (after incentives) less than $24,000 for a brand new 2004 GTO in September 2004. The dealer I bought it from sold ONE GTO from Dec. 2003 to Aug. 2004. They had $5,000 "market adjustment" stickers to thank.
