This mullet/kid's car/punk's car image needs to go away.

It's one more obstacle in a potential consumer's path before he buys...and a reality a buyer lives with after he buys.

Let's face it....beyond places like this site....newer Camaros have no cache at all with the general public. WE need to be honest here.

I am the original owner of an '89 IROC. Absolutely mint. 9,300 original miles. G92, 5-speed, DX3 decal delete, N10 dual cat exhaust.
I can't tell you how many 15 and 16 year olds approach me inquiring if I'll sell it to them for cheap for their first car.

Again, I can't agree more. Outside of places like this site, people need to start learning reality. It doesn't mean I love my car any more or less...but to be a sales success, this needs to be overcome.

You say this yet you brought up the idea of a s/c 4banger for a 5th gen base model but that's the other can of worms best not opening up again..

As I had said I'm not going into that again and plenty others shared my view of why no s/c 4banger. We argued about that in that thread,if you want to know what my thoughts about that and what it partains it to this thread then reread it.
This is my last statement for this thread,I do nopt fuully agree with the better quality will lessen others snobby/azzholish attitudes about our cars.As I had said many times over in this thread-cars get older-cheaper-affordable to those type people(mullethead, punks or less desirables),the stigma won't go away. It's a never ending cycle. Peace
