I think you talk to Red too much.
Hahah...now they are making it out to be bad to talk to the one person on the board who remotly has imput on the next Camaro....Way to further the case for the Z28!

In generations 1 & 2, "SS" stood for SuperSport, which got you a high performance muscle Camaro.

In generation 4, it became a "sticker" model trim package. While some have suggested "SS" stands for StickerSport, or SuperSticker, I can't help to harken back to my childhood with "SoS".... **** on a Shingle.

Yet another gem from a NON OWNER.

Tell me, how many magazines have you read?

I did NOT say I talked to Red too much, steves fired off that little gem, and it looks like I said that they way you quoted it.

Thanks,

Dan

PS - He can talk as much as he wants, about nearly anything, and I'll listen. The guy lives and breathes Camaro and has forgotten more about it than I'll ever know.

I edited...sorry my accident

Then he needs to learn how to drive. I broke out a 13.2 dial with a 13.07 @ 108 on a 1.9 60' INTO A HEADWIND in OCTOBER at about 45 degrees in an SS with 1400 miles on the clock. NEXT.

And I've seen SS's cut sub-13's.

I doubt that HIGHLY. Plant your **** in both for a week each and get back to me. NEXT.

Then let's see you APPLY some of those resources. NEXT.

Ever checked the resale? I was offered $21,000 BY A DEALER two weeks ago.

And, since you never spent any real time with both cars, you couldn't tell me what the true differences were with them anyway.

It sounds like you haven't spent real time in both either. How many SS's did you drive? I can think of at least 6 that I drove before I made my decision. Even 2 LS-1's! I've driven my friends 02 numerous times. I think that more than equals your week in a Z28. BTW what dealership gives Z28's as loaners? They were so hard to come by. 75% of the dealers around here didn't even have one in stock. I find that hard to believe. Anyways I'll give you that one. The guy that owns it ran a high 13 we all took turns running it and the guy that got the 13.3 was the lightest weight and he also had a 96 Z28 that was modified with bolt ons and that ran high 12's. BTW that car got wraped around a tree by his little brother. What did he replace that Z with not an SS a COBRA! What track were you at. We ran that at Union Grove.
Were you at English Town? The elevation is perfect there thats why you always see the fastest times there. Resale is pretty good BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT BUILT ANYMORE! Not everyone wants a Mustang and can't afford a Corvette. Also I can put my money where my mouth is. But I don't want anouther POS.

PacerX,
I think it is pretty safe to say that you are wasting your breath. Coming from an old LT1 Z28 and LS1 SS owner, they both have their place and should continue to have their place in the 5th gen. This is not (imo) a subject that is worth having a heart attack over. Look at how long I've been around and then my post count. I am a man of few words, so please don't take this a just babbling - LET IT GO!! You know your stuff when it comes to engineering (and logic in general), but lately you are lessening your great reputation with your short fuse. Please take a step back and regain your composure. Just a respectful suggestion from a internet buddy!

It's not bad to talk to him just don't try to force his opinion down my throat. If Red really cares he wants to here what we have to say.

ACK.

You're right.

I just feel like I'm not going to get shouted down by the unreasonable mob this time, and I've got the guns drawn to ensure it doesn't happen.

Cut me to the quick, but I appreciate it.

Thanks.

He has heard...trust me he has heard...and does care...but some things he can not change.

And his opinion generally is GM's opinion..or an indicator of the direction they will take.

Red is the only one here that can resolve this problem. You have your opinion and I have mine. This is a stupid argument I'll admit to that, but I don't like being called a moron because I am giving the facts and my opinion. Alot of people agree with me. The truth hurts. I still haven't seen one good argument. I don't own a 4th gen SS nor do I want one. I have owned, driven, been in, seen, and read about them enough to know what I am talking about. I know you guys don't think so. Thats your problem.

GM has an agenda I can understand that, but don't tell the consumer what they want. The consumer tells you what they want. If you want us to buy your product you should have pen in hand to write down whatever the consumer asks for, and try your hardest to fill that order. This will eliminate the need for 0% and $4000 rebates to sell your cars.
