What does the 5th gen need for you to buy it?

They need a good mix of luxury and geeky gadgets for it to be a solid seller, and that can't jack the price up to high.
I am not so into all of the gimmicky gizmo crap, but I do think the Camaro should have an HUD, or at least an option, because I would tick the box off for it. It is very useful on the Corvettes, and keeps your eyes planted to the road.

. I'd much rather one just come stock that way I don't have to worry about not making proper connections and probably paying more for the same type of system. Either way, my daily driver is going to have one.

I guess a better post would've been that I tihnk the new Camaro has to have enough general appeal to sell well and keep it around. That's what I want out of it. A workable powerplant and good Camaro looks but with enough mass appeal to prevent what happened after '02.
Re: What does the 5th gen need for you to buy it?
The 5th gen must.....
1. Be a reasonable entry level price, comparable to the new stang, if not even a bit cheaper
2. Have a selection of 3 or more engine options ranging from a stout V6 in the Base coupe, to an optional 4.8 or 5.3 in the Z, to the 6.0L 400 HP in the SS. I want to see some variety like the late 60's,
3. More Options, a persons car is a reflection of them self, i.e. more than 5 different paint colors(including some classics like Hugger Orange and maybe some sort of a daytona yellow? and more than 3 interior colors?
4. More rim options
5. A stereo system from the factory that doesnt sound like empty coffee cups;P
6. Last and Finally, GM, give us stuff we can mod a couple years down the road
With all these Ill be waiting outside Nurse Chevrolet In Whitby Ontario Canada in 2007

Re: What does the 5th gen need for you to buy it?
I'll be happy with the GTO underpinnings with something like the old Hot Wheels Muscle Tone styling. IMHO, the best looking possible 5th gen. If GM builds that, I will sell everything I own to get one. (in the 2nd model year of course).
That being said, I think V8, RWD, M6 are a definite, but that IRS needs to be there. It doesn't have to be standard, but it absolutely has to be an option. I don't want to have to buy a GTO to get IRS. I would also like to see at least an MP3-capable radio, if not an MP3 changer device of some kind. I don't know that any one of these is a deal-breaker for me, but lacking IRS would send (to me) a negative message that GM was not comitted to bringing the 5th gen into the new millennium. A message, that would most definitely have me at least looking at GTO's instead. I know, either way the General wins, but I would much rather have a "Camaro" in my driveway.
These are the things I think Camaro needs. Obviously, it needs a good V6 package. The actual engine is of little consequence. It just needs to not look like a stripper model, unlike the 4th gens. I think when you're shopping for V6 Camaros, you want a little pop in the engine, but it's not the primary buying decision at that point. And please, dear god, no hub caps on any Camaro!!!!

So you want everything the competition has and more at a lower price point. Alright for realism.
