Strange comment, considering your vote on IZ28's poll.

Maybe it's just too early in the day and I'm still half asleep but "IZ28's pole"

The heck is that?

You can't say that about these SUV's of today. They are the highest gas guzzling vechicles on the road. They put out the most emmisions, have the worst handeling, worst aerodynamics, worst breaking and acceleration of ANY other class of cars on the market today.

I maintain my stance on the issue of this thing being called an "SS". Save it for the cars that can perform.

As far as the LS2, yeah, that's a nice little motor and all, but I'd much rather see it in a light weight 2 door sports car. That power isn't going to help you much when it's trying to push around a TANK.
So whats your definition of a car that can perform then??
With a 6.0 LS2 and AWD to hook up I would estimate it might crack the 6 sec barrier, 0-60. Even if its in the 6's thats still fast---and faster then anyother comparable SUV in the market. Its all but fact.

BTW a Trailblazer check in about 4500lbs max

I think GM is getting the SS formula right. A few years ago they weren't.
The Monte Carlo SS was a NA 3800 V6-0-now its the S/C 3800.

Cobalt SS is supercharged and has 18" rims. The Ion Redline (same drivetrain) did 14.7@97mph in the 1/4. Pretty damn quick. And affordable

Don't forget that back in the day Chevy had applied SS to far slower cars.
The SS cyl and 327s and even the 300hp (gross) 350 SS Camaro was no tireshreding monster.

Chevy is making a better SS thats not to pricey but has genuine performance.
Sounds right to me.

Please feel free to respond and tell us how you'd manage the SS brand. Where you would put it ect. Just work with the cars GM has now.

As for the worst performing class of car on the road today---SUVs kill the hybrids! And the Trailblazer SS will beat all subcompacts, save the SRT-4

If GM adds 5k in incentives, then this truck would be very cool.. 38k is too high though.

Another vote for "price way too high."

Without incentives, they could probably sell this around $29,999. Wouldn't THAT be an eye-opener?

Re: Undisguised Trailblazer SS pics

As others have said above (including me), go check the price of a comparable vehicle from another manufacturer, then come back and say its overpriced...its not!!! Just because it isn't a $23k V8 F body doesn't mean its overpriced, guys...

Why does everything with a V8 have to sell for $25k or less to be considered a decent price on this website? As for the build quality of TrailBlazers, say what you will about the interior plastics (not the greatest, for sure), but my dad has 72k on his '02 and other than one recall and one bulletin, the car has been perfect. Not bad for a first year vehicle...he's been happy enough to plan on buying another this spring, despite the fact my mom's '03 Explorer Limited is far nicer on the inside, and has yet to have a problem (only 21k on it though).

Re: Undisguised Trailblazer SS pics

TrailBlazer SS will be 2" shorter than a Camaro SS

4x4 TB LS starts at $30,830, make the SS package a $4000 option and offer it on ALL trim levels NOT just on the fully loaded LT like in the Silverado.

The LS2 TrailBlazer is a smart move. Why let BMW and Mercedes have all the fast SUVs. Correct me if I'm wrong, bit the Trailblazer SS will have a 6 speed manual !!!

That's not saying much considering the average full sized SUV is does the 1/4 mile in the mid 20's

4500 pounds. You don't think that's lot ? On top of that, throw in atleast another 150-200# for the driver and another 350-400# for all the stereo crap YOU KNOW the owner's gonna throw in that thing. I guess standards have dropped alot, but I still say that a 4500lb tank should not have the "SUPER SPORT" badge on the fendor.

That's a 15 second car. I'm sorry, but a 15 second car should not have an "SS" badge on it.

The additional weight added by those heavey-@ss wheels pretty much eliminates any performance gain from that tiney little blower It is reliitively affordable though. Then again, so is a 5.0 'Stang or an LT1 Fbody. Which would you rather have ?

Line up a SS 350 and a new trail blazer. My money's on the 350. Where's yours?

Unfortunately, as I said before, I just don't feel GM has ANYTHING on the market right now worthy of the "SS" badging. There's just something terribly wrong with seeing the "SS" symbol on a 4 cylinder or 6 cylinder grocery getter. Same goes for a 4 ton truck for that matter.

True enough
... They're faster, but not by much. "SS" sybol or not

Re: Undisguised Trailblazer SS pics

15 second car? With an LS2? That's an ignorant statement, for sure. A Corvette runs 12s and 3,400 lbs...with an extra 1,100 pounds you think the SS will be more than 2 full seconds behind? RIGHT....

If the GTO at 3,800 lbs is set to run high 12s in the right hands, I'd say 700 lbs more for the SS puts it at a 13.9, my guess. My dad's I6 TB could run a 15 for crying out loud. Like I said...ignorant statement.

Why would anyone want a manual? Gee...uhm, who wouldn't? You say this thing isn't worth of an SS badge, but then complain when they add a sporty feature such as a stick? Some people truly don't get it...
