UAW Members busted at lunch slamming beers, smoking weed
Post-accident drug tests are common because most employers want to roll the dice on avoiding fiscal responsibility after a worker's comp claim.
The reality is that random drug screenings aren't done often enough. And who cares if they're "dependent?" If they test positive, can 'em. Period. Maybe then some of these apes would grow into adulthood and make responsible decisions when it comes to illegal drugs.
Our entire society is rejecting a very basic concept of Darwinism -- where stupid actions literally bring about serious repercussions. Sometimes even death!
I was listening to a podcast by Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes over the past couple of days -- most of which dealt with Mewes' addiction problems and the struggle they both went through. Treatment specialists actually told Smith that he was the problem because he was always "putting a net" under Jason. Giving him money, giving him a place to stay, cleaning up his mess. How troubled or irresponsible people make a change is they hit rock bottom. And once there, they either choose to give up and die or they choose a different path.
Fire these !@#$'ers. Screw an "investigation", you've got them on tape. They're dicking around on my tax-dollars and I'm pissed off about it.

And if there was no union, there would be no investigation....they'd be terminated on the spot. I said in the last thread where you tried to spout you pro-union bull**** that I work with a union everyday. They are lazy, useless, and deserve to be fired, but instead, they are protected and get $40/hr to screw everything up.
There is no need for unions unless you have the skills of a retarded ape and can't market yourself. Guess what, if you show up, do your job, and do it well, you have little to worry about.

You deal with .00001% of Union workers in the country. I'm sure those couple dozen workers represent the millions across the country.
In this area, the skill set of Union electricians over non-union is ten fold. It's not even a comparison.
If you were the owner of a company or a manager whose job depended on subordinates getting work done would you be OK if they smoked weed or drank beer on their breaks?

As far as not being tested enough, I worked almost 5 years as a non union sheet metal worker. I was tested once, at 16, upon initial employment.
On the flip side, I've worked 3.5 years as a Union electrician and have been tested twice for clean cards and randomed 3 times.

Union or not is not the point...if I were in the market to buy a new vehicle (which I will be in a couple of years), and someone said "these are the guys who are assembling your next car", there is absolutely no way I would buy that car knowing that they are that careless with what they are responsible for. Yes, I know it happens in every auto plant to one degree or another, plant but the American auto industry is in rough shape to begin with, no need to make import vehicles look even better.
These guys don't deserve their jobs. For each one of them, there are hundreds who would be more than willing to work in their spot, twice as hard for half the pay who won't be bombed or baked when they do it. Production value goes up, sales go up...and guess what? We are all better off. In a perfect world anyway...

And that, Jason, is the ultimate point. What is unemployment in our fair state, 14%? How many laid off manufacturing workers would KILL to have the opportunity these clowns have (or, had)....
That video makes me want to run right out and buy their "flag ship" 2001 Grand Cherokee. Nothing screams reliability to me more than having a vehicle put together by someone smoking the Mary Jane at lunch time followed by a 40 wrapped in a paper bag.
Heaven forbid someone could get fired for not performing their job without wasting everyones time. Case and point as to why we don't need unions, you made it for me.
My question is how much of this and for how long has it been going on before the media was tipped off? I find it hard to believe that this is a new thing.
And the other thing is that the guy mentions that he had plenty of people calling in to his radio show and defend them.
What investigation is needed? In a normal job you would be fired instantly, and rightfully so.
