I'm not so sure about that. What if they said no black people could park in the lot? Or no women? Would that be legal? Private organizations such as the boy scouts have been taken to court and lost because they "discriminate" against a certain group.

 

There IS a big difference between supporting people and their families, and supporting "Political Agenda's"....just as much as there is between "murder" and "justifiable homicide"...

I look at it this way, if someone comes to my house and parks in my driveway, I don't have to let them. If I only want to allow black cars that are from 1997 and have chrome wheels park there, that is my choice and nobody elses.

i dont agree with what theyre doing, but yeah I think thats ok. Bottom line is it is there property, they dont have to let them park there, its not their right to park there its a privledge and if they want to pick and chose who parks there it is their right to do that.

 

So you support discrimination... I guess that's your right that you've been given. The same right that has been defended by those Marines and other military men and women that theses clowns are discriminating against.

 

I didn't say that I would do that, but its their right, its their property. Will you let anybody you don't know drive your car? Probably not, you probably want somebody thats been driving a while, probably has some experience in driving in the past, and that you're friends or family with. Why are you discriminating? Because you can, its your car!

They aren't discriminating in any way with relation to anything that can possibly called discriminating. They simply say people who drive cars that were built by people who are a part of our union can park here. Maybe instead of buying something built by non-union, out of the country, peoples you should look to see what YOUR country has to offer first. They aren't doing anything wrong.

How do you know they didn't? How do you know that they didn't look at all that was offered, and decided that a Toyota (or whatever) was the better value? Should they then be "punished" for that? If someone likes a Toyota better, I suggest finding a way to make them like the car YOU BUILD better - not whining for more protectionist legislation.

I damn sure didn't buy my Ford to put money in some Union's coffers. I bought it because it offered what I wanted. Free market, gotta love it. I guarantee you that not letting me park my American-made car in a parking lot because I might have a W sticker is just plain stupid - not that I expected any less from the UAW.

As for the discrimination thing....you, as a private property owner can allow whomever you wish to park. Or not. However, public businesses do not have that same right - they must abide by anti-discrimination laws. I do not know how this applies (or does not apply) to a union.

I hope this story gets TONS of air time. I hope everybody hears about it and the Union boss's true colors are exposed.
