Price it the same as the HFV6 package.... what's the downside (other than it's FWD, of course)? I could definitely see this replacing my wife's Impala in a few years.
I'd seriously consider a LNF powered 2LT equipped Malibu now, and then hold out for a new Camaro for another year or two. GM is blowing it big-time if you ask me.

Interesting. As much as I'd love an LNF Malibu, if GM were to offer the LNF in the Impala AND give it a nose update (ala Malibu), I'd probably like that even better. (Provided it also gets the A6.)

Well, the Malibu does weigh 500lbs more. 30mpg would be a stretch.

Sorry, I'm thinking "real world" not EPA rating.

Although, the current 2.4 A6 is rated at 33 mpg and HFV6 is rated at 26 mpg. I would think a LNF/6 speed Malibu could manage 30 mpg on the EPA highway cycle.

In the HHR the LNF gets the exact same mileage as the 2.4L, 29mpg. My guess would be that a LNF Malibu with a 6 speed auto would get an EPA rating of 30-32mpg.
