No worries.

Just send him an e-mail asking what car he thinks is better from a British owned auto company (one that produces more than a couple dozen cars per year).

Being from the UK myself, I will say that the interiors of UK cars are hardly any better. Build quality is no better. And how they managed to get the vette to underperform so badly is mind boggling .

Re: Top Gear tests C6

I regularly watch top gear and have found that that is just their sense of humor. In the Ford GT episode(second one) they pointed out the poor fuel mileage and how Clarkson couldn't even get in if someone parks next to him. I thought it was a good episode, and although they did blow some things out of proportion ("they don't have these (corners) in the united states, how did they know to do that) overall it was cool to see their take on the car. Now they need to get the Viper SRT-10 and a C6 Z06 out there and bring in Clarksons GT. That would be a good test.

Oh and by the way:
If you are not familiar with Top gear.
Correct me if I'm wrong but they tested a Lamborghini Diablo versus a Volkswagen Golf GTI to show " the difference between a really really fast car and a Lamborghini" and also tested a Mclaren F1 versus a Nissan Skyline GTR to show "the difference between a really really fast car and a Mclaren F1".

Anyway, the C6 is a fine machine, it's just that Top Gear's standards are just way too high

Lol on the 4.6. Everyone was singing praises of truth when that was getting trashed. No bias sensed there, but now it's reveresed, hehe.

But to be honest, that pompous bastards review was really heavily biased . It isn't perfect, but it is nowhere near 3/4 as bad as that *** made it out to be.

Losing to an NSX? Don't know what to think of that considering the NSX couldn't beat a 350hp c5. Guy clearly couldn't drive, and had no business behind the wheel. Least they could have done was put a real driver behind the wheel.

No, just an MR. Basically a marketing gimmick. Bilstien shocks and a bit more power for a lot more money. Kinda like the SS.

Entertaining, that's just British humor for you, not a serious test.

Actually there's a bit more to it than that, but also, it has the same amount of power as the regular EVO. I read a review of it not too long ago. It looks like it'll be a good car for track or auto-x (I'd still take the STi though).

Does the C6 Vette even have leaf springs? I didn't think IRS cars had them?

The C5 Vettes have always had the transverse mounted leaf springs. It is a single composite spring that supports the suspension on the front, and another one supports the suspension on the rear (There are no coilovers on C5 vettes whatsoever). The only thing about these springs that resembles leaf spring technology of old only is the name "leaf spring" the setup in reality is actually quite high tech. The primary reasons leaf springs have been used here as opposed to coilovers is to help reduce weight and prevent the suspension from sagging. They are also supposedly more responsive than a typical coilover setup

You guys should check the lounge more often. I had the High Quality video.

Corvette History 101...
Corvettes have always had leaf springs in the back, went to composite rears in about 1980-81 I think. Fronts went to composite leafs starting w/ the '84's.
