Yep everyone has a friend at GM. It's amazing, there must be millions of people working on the new C*****.

My friend at GM tells me it's going to have a 572 big block and 500 shot of nawwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwzzzz right from the factory.

Yeah yeah real funny guys. I shoulda known I'd get backlash on this. He dosen't work for GM. He works for a magazine. He is legit. You don't have to believe me, I just thought I'd share what I knew.
BTW, member robvas can vouch for this. He knows the guy well too.

I didn't want to start another thread just for this. But I thought you guys might like to see it.
I was thinking of getting a part-time job as a porter or whatever at a Chevy dealership near me. I go to a site of one of the dealerships and I'm looking to see if they have anything to do with employment. In the lineup of cars they had, '07 Camaro???, listed. Clicking on it brings you to one of the PopularHotRodding articles from 2004. I know that isn't new. I also know the dealerships are privately owned and what they say isn't always officially GM's position. I just thought that this was a promising sign. You guys can take it as you want.

Re: Thread for the discussion of the "Bright Headlights..." article
The article was more of a "what if?" and there were little to ZERO facts in it.
Unfortunately, a LOT of people looked at the acticle and didn't actually READ it and automatically determined that it was gospel. I cannot tell you how many people I have talked to and the conversation goes like this:
Them: "Have you seen the 5th gen in PHR?"
Me. "Yeah, I know the guy that dreamed it up. Pretty cool, eh?"
Them: "So then it is offical that the Camaro is coming back in '07!"
Me: "Not necessarily. Maybe. No one really knows."
Them: "What are you talking about? It said it is coming back as an '07!"
Me: Did you read the article?"
Them: "I glanced at it."
Me: "READ IT."
:blah:

I traded email with Red a few times in the last year. It's pretty hard for him to contain himself, but he's doing a good job at it.
I grudingly look as Mustang has become the icon of the affordable muscle cars of the last couple of years and now has taken on new life with its retro looking 05 model in an unchallenged market. My son (a SS owner) and myself (a Z28 owner) have felt enough is enough. GM needs to wake up immediately to the market. It sounds as though they are the United States Government. We elect them, but that's the last time we ever hear anything from them, because they do what THEY think is best and don't have an ear to the public outcries for what has been taken away. We don't elect GM officials, but they have ignored the market. Clinics my a**. Read the market. The reintroduction of the Camaro is a must. This kid in California who designed a retro looking Camaro should have already been hired by GM and the plans should have already gone to pre-production phase. Us F-body fans need something to bring down the Ford reign. The only reason they have that status is because they are unchallenged. A GTO? What is a four door family car with an LS-2 going to do for us? Nothing. That isn't sporty. I just expect to carry my family aroung in it with a little more power. Ain't nothing sporty about a four door family car. Whatever GM is hiding, they need to get it out there NOW!
Re: Thread for the discussion of the "Bright Headlights..." article
Apparently GM recently met with Kris H., the designer of the much posted would-be 5th gen concept. While I'm sure he can't talk about what was discussed, you can guess what topic came up.
Re: Thread for the discussion of the "Bright Headlights..." article
GTO is a 2 door and has just as many seats as an F-body. Thought I'd clarify that. But I do agree, GM needs to announce something soon from Chevrolet to compete with the Mustang. I'm hoping for a Camaro.
