Excellent! This is good news, though it's been a pretty well known fact that a new coupe will be coming in the future, I had no idea that a conference was held that was very well recieved. Hopefully this means that there really will be a return of a classic. Hopefully it's called "Camaro"

Re: Thread for the discussion of the "Bright Headlights..." article

Nicely written, Jason.

I believe this is the first word of a Chevy coupe being shown in a clinic within the last 2 months... the last one I thought we knew of was the GONGOS clinic that Danno was at which has got to be well over a year ago now...???

Seems like things are progressing... on a car that could be a Camaro, was intended to be a Camaro and is now something else, or something that was never intended to be a Camaro to begin with...

How positive were these results?

It scored higher than any other vehicle in Chevrolet's history.

I heard that Chevy was going to come out with a concept Chevelle. It is suposed to be based on the Monte Carlo Platform. Could this be what they are talking about?

I hope it's named Camaro. I hope it deserves the name.

The current Monte Carlo is based on a front-wheel-drive platform called W. It shares the platform with a number of GM vehicles, including Impala, Grand Prix, La Crosse.

This platform will be phased out at some point, and my understanding is that Monte Carlo will be cancelled as a W-body in a few years.

The Chevelle you're speaking of is the most likely candidate for this car at the end of the tunnel, and it will be on a completely new rear-wheel-drive architecture. This architecture has nothing in common with current Monte Carlo.

Muckz, why assume it's a Chevelle?

Why assume it's a Camaro.

Maybe it's the new Buick.

I definitely hope it's a Camaro, but I'm sure only a few people really know, and with the Z06 pics leaked, information about the Fifth Gen is going to be tough to come by.

Well, a Buick will do nothing for f-body enthusiasts. We want a Camaro, and nothing else. It appears that this Chevelle, or whatever the Chevrolet Zeta coupe will be called, is what we are leaning to based on other threads. IT will be the popular vehicle, whereas the 5th gen was supposedly worked on off-site, so I doubt it would get such exposure and clinic treatment at this point.

who knows, just the way i see it based on the information i have.
