Let's not **** ourselves, politics is in probably 10-20% of every thread in the auto news section. State rights and less federalization is generally considered a conservative position. Since the vast majority of users here are clearly conservatives, it shocks me that so many are against states having the power to choose how they will regulate automotive emissions and fuel economy standards. I am not implying this specific regulation will outlaw anything (as you have asumed). Rather, I am saying if it lead to that the free market and people's ability to *choose* to move to another state will come into play.

That said, i'm all for stricter fuel economy standards, and by this boards standards would probably be considered a flaming liberal.

Well, I think this could either be a good thing or a bad thing

Good: the emissions and gas-mileage hippie crap will start to get a move on after idk, 50 years of staying nearly the same.

BAD: My friend had a R33 Skyline GTR he imported. It wasnt road legal in the U.S so he couldnt drive it on the roads in the U.S. Well, some how word broke out that he owned one. Customs seized it, and he never could get it back.
What I'm afriad is they'll start doin the same with these regulations, if you import a car from another state and they find out, that they'll take it. It would be a mess.
