I got the hood from a local guy on this board. I don't know where he found it though. He sold his Z28 before he put it on, and I bought it from him. The paint job was $300. The OEM SS rims I got from Brent Franker, a moderator on this site. He just happened to be selling his, and I found them at the right time.

Umm... duh... you don't say... I happen to own 2 stick cars and understand what a gear lever is for. But thanks for the driving lesson . You managed to miss my point entirely which was that when you're stopped or crawling at 5 mph on the on ramp waiting to merge, you are not revving to 3-4 grand. Then when you go to put your foot down hard... you are gonna get lag. It's not hard, but it makes things less predictable. Give me honkin 350 cid v8 with no lag anyday.

Doesn't sound like you've driven a turbo car before. You have to adopt a different driving style with turbo. If you're at a stop, you just slip the clutch a bit to keep it on boost.

I'm sure some folks like em, and good for them. For me - no thanks. 8.5-9.5 lb/HP for an aftermarket blown setup just doesn't get me excited.

I won't comment on the looks of the car (or the "competitors" it listed - the WRX and Evo). To each their own.

Which is really good for clutch durability.

Re: SRT4 Stage 3 mag review

So it can run some impressive times after some warranty-voiding "factory" add-ons. And for under $30k. I guess I'm not overly impressed. There are a lot of cars that can pull of this feat. And the article is pretty vague when describing certain aspects, such as handling, "it's probably pretty nimble."

It's close enough to an Evo pricetag not to win me over. Cool that it's offered nonetheless.

I never understood the:

"Let's put a bunch of money into the pipsqueak motor" and run 12's philosophy.

I got a better idea... let's put half the money into a real motor and run 10's... or 9's... or 250mph... or whatever turns you on...
