SRT4 Stage 3 mag review

http://automobilemag.com/reviews/sed...n_srt4_stage3/
Looking for a modern muscle car alternative to the new Ford Mustang GT and Pontiac GTO? You'll need power numbers like 355 horsepower, 365 lb-ft of torque, and a price under $30,000 to compete.

But what about a turbocharged front-wheel-drive Dodge Neon weighing less than 3000 pounds with the ability to push well over 20 pounds of boost? Is this a modern muscle car? It definitely is. It's even scary to drive at times, like some of the most bitchin' muscle cars of the 1960s.

I really wished they offered this package on a RWD platform with a more unique body, I'd be all over it like white on rice... pun possibly intended

Re: SRT4 Stage 3 mag review

"More than that, those numbers put it ahead of its legendary budget-racer brethren like the 19691/2 Dodge Super Bee, which had a Six Pack 440-cubic-inch engine putting out 390 hp and 390 lb-ft of torque--good for quarter-mile times of 13 seconds flat at 110 mph right out of the box."

I don't know that I would mention a Super Bee in a comparison to a Dodge SRT4 modified or not. They're not worth being in the same magazine, let alone the same article...

"Muscle car" and "Fwd" should never be used in the same sentence.

That SRT4 is growing on me. I don't know if I'd opt for all the upgrades, but just the basic one seems like a really good dailydriver/weekend racer. Carving corners is fun ...

355HP with "Race gas"

It's 310 to the crank with pump gas. Not bad though.

It's a Neon. I can get a Honda Civic to run 12's. It's still a Civic. No thanks, not for me.

I'm not a fan of the neon, but one thing that I think is very cool; the factory go-fast parts. It's great to see so much support from the OEM.

Yeah, I can't see any muscle in that car, no matter how much HP it could ultimately generate. A muscle car definately is not just about HP. When you get to the point of bolting on big slicks to a fwd car, you start to look pretty silly to me. (not that the neon in this review absolutely needed slicks) Should have started with a better platform from the beginning if it ever gets to that point in my opinion.

By the way, beautiful SS you have there.
