Maybe you guys can help me out. Last week I was walking by the TV and CNN had a text blurb, which said something about the Japanese automakers hiding warranty or quality problems, or something of that nature. Any of you catch that, and know more about it? Any links to articles? I didn't get to see the details before the info was gone.

I can't point you to any specific sites, but I remember that being an issue with Mitsubishi. That's part of the reason they are tanking badly right now. Other people probably have more insight than I do, though.

 

would love to see Toyota actually get this out...they cant be all squaky clean..

 

Toyota has had oil sludging problems in their 4 bangers and V6's for years. I don't know if they recalled them or not though.

 

I think you're refering to the issues surrounding Mitsubishi Fuso cab-over-engine trucks in the Japanese homemarket.

 

If I remember correctly, they mentioned that it was cause of improper oil changing habits, but they said they will replace engines for free that are really badly effected... and thru some wierd twist of media/perception skewing, they came out as the hero's... odd huh?

There was alot of flak about the Transmissions in Honda's, especially the Oddessy.. I think they finally fessed up about them after a few years, when things really stated getting ugly. Again, wierd how its kinda kept under wraps by the media huh?
