If everything is cool with the CAW, then what is the issue with the Camaro name NOW?!
If you can't state it here, please, PM me.
Re: Solution to Camaro naming problem...
I don't really want a bad-to-the-bone car so much anymore, I want the next car to have some friggin options. I'm tired of my friends being able to brag about all these cool functions in their cars while all I have is a foglight switch and a radio basically.
I want optional GPS navigation integrated into the dash. I also REALLY WANT optional paddle shifters on the steering column. I'm from the Playstation generation, I love shifting gears with my index fingers
. I believe the new Mazda RX-8 or Mazdaspeed Miata has paddle shifters but I'm not sure
. I still want the car to be high horsepower with super high torque, but I don't want to have a car with technology from the 80s in it either.
Here's a list of options I want;
-GPS navigation system in the dash, can also watch dvds through the CD player on the navigation screen when parked.
-paddle shifters on the steering column, for those of us who are not very proficient in manual shifting-- plus paddle shifters are extremely precise, that is why all indy cars have them and the Ferrari 360 and Enzo.
- thicker rear axles or whatever so they aren't hurt by the jerk of acceleration.
-an ignition button in the car... those are just cool.
-suspension that can be switched from comfort mode to sport mode (remember, this is an option, you can do without it and just be in sport mode constantly)
- suspension that raises the car in the front so it doesn't scrape (the lamborghini murcielago has this so it can go up driveways and over railroad tracks along with speed bumps)
I can't think of anything more, but Chevy needs to offer us some of those cool bells and whistles that the Corvette gets.

There will be, because of the very large parts bin that will come along with Zeta. There will be OnStar, and every single electronic gizmo such as DVD based navi, and Im sure that paddle shifters are a given if the 6spd is used.
Id like XM on my Z, as well as a 6cd player with MP3 ability.
Id probably go for a 6spd manumatic
Id go with the biggest engine available for the Z28
I want it in lazer red with black/grey interior.
The idea of some sort of adjustable suspension would be cool. What about the Magna-ride shocks in the Corvette/XLR? Maybe they will come down in price and be available in the Camaro?

Re: Solution to Camaro naming problem...
what would be cool is if they offered the interior in more than the standard grey, black, and tan. I think they should offer light grey, dark grey, black, dark tan(think almost brown), light netural tan. What would also be cool is if they did like the GTO and offered interior accents that match the exterior color, like the red stitching, red gauges, red leather seats, etc. In these days of 2 or 3 interior colors, this could be a great way for the Camaro to stand out, provided they give us a good interior(please no crappy stuff like the 4th Gen)
Re: Solution to Camaro naming problem...
I'm not really a Vette guy by any means, I like the Corvette I guess, but the Camaro is my ideal. I just want some available options, they should not be standard options in any manner. You should be able to choose what you want added onto the car, Chevy should employ mass customization. TVR (British car company, massively powerful in the market, just don't hear about them in the US) and several other manufacturers (that are, yes, smaller than Chevy and don't produce trucks and such) offer tons of options. They basically build the car with what you want. While that is too extreme, I just want some really cool options available.
Onstar is an awful system, I NEVER want to see that in a Camaro, that system is just retarded. I want GPS that you purchase, pay no subscription to use, and only have to purchase additional CDs/DVDs for different states and such. Lexus has this type of system in their cars, I'm not an expert, but I'm assuming there are other kinds that you do not wholly purchase.
paddle shifters= fun
GPS= avoid the no-fun associated with getting lost
start button= great novelty, turning the key isn't as fun as pressing a button.
The other options I mentioned I probably wouldn't spring the cash to pay for. But I would definitely go for the three I listed above. Hopefully I could get those options on a new Z28 for under $30,000. I wouldn't really want any engine mods, that's what really drives the price up.

On Star is pretty cool, but I dont like the idea how they can monitor you, and even shut down your car if they chose. I think it should be an option for thoes who would want it.
Re: Solution to Camaro naming problem...
i will never own a car with Onstar or something like that where they can track your car. I'm paranoid and Onstar seems like something out of the book 1984. You know "Big Brother is watching you."

News flash:
The car we are expecting to be a Camaro, probally isn't going to be.
But a car we aren't expecting to be, just may.
There's a few of us looking into this right now.
Stay tuned.
