Small notes about Guion m's RWD thread
I couldn't bring myself to go through all 87 pages(gave up about page 9). So, I thought I'd post my impressions up to that point.
Item#1: Almost all of the posts (with one noteable exception) seem to have missed the fact that the VE platform is a highly flexible thing. Just because a GTO and Camaro might both be based on VE does not mean that they will have ANY body panels(visible) in common. In other words, if you look at these two side by side they don't have to look similar at all. This new architecture is being chosen because of its ability to be used for AWD,RWD,coupes, convertibles, wagons, solid rear axles,IRS, and even a truck or two. Holden has these models sharing sheetmetal because of their need to be cost-effective in a relatively small market. GMNA has no such constraints. So, these new VE models for GMNA need not share much in the way of common measurements-including the roofline. So, I highly doubt that the new Camaro will share any exterior measurements with the next GTO.
Item#2: I have heard that the new Camaro won't even be based on Zeta after all. I don't know if this is true, but I heard it from an "informed source" so take that for what it's worth.
Item#3: There was never a Camaro 454SS.

Did the '67 Camaro and Chevy II look similar?

Didn't I say that already? So far only a few people have thought the Camaro and GTO would look anything alike.
