Skyline GT-R prototype on U.S. soil!
It's not that it's a "big deal" but there are at least two problems with your analogy...
...there was no camo (unless you consider a front-end bra camo)
...Detroit (as does LA) contains major design centers for almost all manufacturers (including the transplants) but especially Ford, GM and Chrysler so it wouldn't be surprising to see GM or Ford or Chrysler driving test cars around in the area...it's their back-yard after all. However, that's quite a bit different than spending a LOT of money to transport a car half-way around the world just to drive it in the U.S. especially when Nissan North America has no part in the design or production of the GT-R.

The car in NM has the same camo job as the test cars seen on the Nurburgring. I'm not really sure why you are being so adamant about all this. Most of what you are saying about the testing process just isn't true. Foreign market cars test in North America all the time. Nevermind that the GT-R is going to be sold here.
They may just want to put good old fashioned miles on the thing, something the American SW is unique in providing, as long as you want decent roads and no one shooting at you. Last I heard, since I've never been able to go there myself, you can drive for hours and hours and still be in the middle of nowhere. Which is a good thing if you want to rack up miles on your car with few people seeing you.
Im not trying to be a jerk, I just usually correct someone if I see something being said that I know isn't true.

lol. Dude, he's an automotive spy photographer.
Question CD/BP... Do test cars ever have actual security escorting them? What do they do? Tell people to shoo away?

Wow Robert, I don't think I've seen anyone more dense, close minded, and ignorant as you in a while. So much so, in fact, that I had to register just to post this.
CD/BP is one of the top spy photographers in the nation. About 1/3rd the spy photos you see in the national magazines and newspapers are his. You know the Silverado breaking cover? Yeah, that was him. The first shots of the REAL Blue Devil prototype? Yeah, him too.
Do a google search on Chris Doane and Brenda Priddy, and then promptly insert your foot into your mouth. You clearly don't even know who is in the industry, much less how the hell manufacturers test cars. Chris is a master of his craft, and I've purchased several photos of his for my publication. Please stop spewing your ignorance, as you already look like a complete idiot to those of us who actually know what goes on in the world of automotive testing.

Well I don't mean to speak for our friend Mr. Nashville but I'm sure he probably didn't realize what you do. Since he usually finds himself on the other side of most of our rants he probalby felt you were messing with him.
Question for you. Was the picture that started this whole thread one of yours? I didn't see your name and copywright on it. Which got me thinking It does seem a bit odd to have the Skyline GTR testing in NM during our winter. I wonder would it be to keep away from the spying eyes of your company and others?

however, I tend to believe things that can be substantiated and one alleged picture at a gas station, especially one posted on an enthusiast’s website is not all that substantial to me.I guess I’ve just seen too many fakes, complete fabrications, lies and damm lies to just swallow what some people want to peddle.
