The next generation Focus will have AWD (optional),So this could be a taste of "whats to come".

Why not import the Opel 2.2 Litre Turbo Astra, that would fill the void in the small car market?

Holden rebadges the Astra as its small car and it sells very well against the rice.

The Euro Focus RS is a lot cleaner and toned down. I'd prefer the RS's simpler styling. But then again, the one pictured is the race version. I'm sure that the wing and everything is fairly functional for their type of racing since it's gone through extensive wind tunnel testing.

Maybe they didn't make the 305hp FR200 focus concept for nothing. A slightly detuned version with AWD would be a good import fighter.

Here's the article on this new Focus rally car. They say it's "the most technically advanced and revolutionary rally car" so i hope it lives upto it's expectation.

That said, it just seem this WRC thing is a little "me too"ish for me. Especially if they go with that WRC name. I would think Subaru might have something to say about that. Still, I give Ford credit for at least venturing into this territory.

Now, let's get the General to come out with a 300HP AWD coupe, and then I "will be there" with my checkbook.
You know what WRC stands for, right?

It's called the Focus WRC because it's raced in the WRC racing series.

That said, I don't think the Focus WRC is ever meant for streets. The Focus RS is the street version of the rally car and they already sell it in Europe.

Engine: 1988 cc DOHC 16v Inline-4 turbocharged, 215 hp, 229 ft-lbs

Transmission: 5-speed manual, front wheel drive

Granted, it's not AWD. That's about the only thing it's missing.

But yeah, if Ford brought over an AWD Focus RS selling in the low-mid 20's, I'd look long and hard at one. They did a great job on the SVT Focus, and the WRX has proven there's a market for this type of car.
