S2000 Replacement?
With the new Miata, Sky, Solstice on the way, when does Honda plan to replace the S2000? Honda usually seems to totally re-do or significantly update a model every 6 years or so and next year the S2000 will be 6 years old. Is there any news or spy pics for the replacement? Or is Honda going to continue the car for a long time with minimal updates like they have done with the NSX.
I realize the S2000 is a price class above the aforementioned models, but their general class (affordable sporty convertible) seems to be on its way back in popularity with the general public. The next 2 years would seem to be a great time to show off a new model.

Re: S2000 Replacement?
The S2000 costs 10K more though. Is it worth 10K more? To me it isn't. Other people might feel differently though.
I also saw a pic of the new Mazda Miata. It looks almost exactly like the old Miata(the one with the exposed headlights). Since style is the #1 thing driving the covertible market, I predict it will fail, or at best sell at its expectations.
Now the Solstice and Sky are beautiful cars IMO, and GM will make a killing with these cars IMO. Expect to see the plant working overtime and sales being way above projections.

Re: S2000 Replacement?
Yeah but mazada is comming out with an all new miata based on the rx8 platform in one year... my question is, is it only a matter of a single year before the all new solstice that was ramjetted through GM wil be old news and uncompetitive?
Re: S2000 Replacement?
well.. Sky and Solstice do 0-60 in low 7's right?
while the new S2000 can do 0-60 in mid to low 5's right?
Dunno about interior quality, fit and finish, handling, but lets just say they are both comparable.
So you got $10k to mod a Solstice to do low 5's.. Couple thousand to add forced induction, couple thousand to beef up drivetrain, and a thousand or two for labor.. and you basically have now voided your factory warrenty.... so its a tough call, IMO...
