Yeah, but it's all the people buying GTOs now that wanted Camaros that I'd be worried about. Those that were on the fence are certainly going to wait on the Camaro now instead of getting a GTO (I know I would).

In the big scheme of things, it doesn't really matter what you (or I, for that matter) are calling this car, be it boring, great, whatever. What matters is what potential buyers are calling it. Lots of folks think it is dull looking on the outside. Of course some don't, but the circumstancial evidence sure leads one in the direction that boring/bland/dull looks are an issue.

Camaro is at least 2-3 years away... I don't know that many people are going to wait that long if they like the GTO at all... especially when they can't even see what the Camaro look slike, and add to that no official announcement from GM.

You gotta remember that 97% of the buying public probably has NO CLUE that Camaro may or may not come back.

And even then, when Camaro does come back... the all-new GTO will be here, and it could be killer...

97% of the buying public doesn't seem to be interested in the GTO (right now). That leaves enthusiasts who seem to be the only ones buying the car (the impression I get anyway). IMO, must enthusiasts would rather have a Camaro, no matter what the GTO is like.

That's fine if it's you opinion, but this:

"IMO, must enthusiasts would rather have a Camaro, no matter what the GTO is like."

doesn't make a lot of sense.

So... if the next Camaro comes back and looks like... a Subaru Legacy... people would perfer it over the current GTO?!? (Let alone the next GTO wihich, after all the flack GM has taken, I assume will be pretty aggressive looking...)

Or, if the next GTO is FABULOUS looking, people would still buy a Camaro, sight-unseen?!

More people buy Legacy's than GTOs...lol. Heck, I bought the WRX before the front end got redesigned. Even the people on this site that think the next Camaro will be too retro will still buy a Camaro because it's a CAMARO! BTW, the 2005 Legacy looks really really nice. 250 HP, AWD and loaded.

I was gonna throw that in about the Legacy. I actually want a GT model... 250 turbocharged HP sounds nice

There's an A4 gto "sale" priced at 30k at our local dealer.

Definitely put me on the side that would buy a GTO if it turns out to be a better car than the Camaro for some reason. My loyalty runs deep, but if Im going to fork out $35k for a car in 2007 Im getting something I like, regardless of the name.

And after all the fans have bought it because ITS A CAMARO, it will be right where the GTO is.

I would happily buy either, just need the money
