For the sake of this poll, a "quad-coupe" retains coupe-like styling while offering two rear half-sized suicide doors in the same vein as the Saturn SC1/2, Saturn Ion, and Mazda RX-8.

4 doors do not equal muscle car/pony car. Never have and never will.
I would rather they let the nameplates die PERMANENTLY than bastardize them and diminish their legacy.
And forthe record, although I think the current GTO is a "little" sedate, I think it is worthy of the GTO name and legacy.

Re: Quad-Coupe GTO/Camaro
What is so wrong about offering this as an OPTION (low cost) for the people who want it? If you don't want it, don't check that option box. Small, suicide doors, like on the RX8 and GM's trucks, will only help sales of the Camaro. Not to mention it will make the car much more user friendly when entering and egressing the car. No huge door to deal with.
Re: Quad-Coupe GTO/Camaro
Definitely not. They add both weight and cost, something we should be trying to reduce on the F5. Plus it would probably ruin the roofline/styling and handcuff the designers.
The problem is that even as an option GM would have to spend the developmental money designing it, and most likely add structure (i.e. weight) to all cars regardless of whether or not it was ordered.
BTW, we should be saying add suicide doors "like Saturn", not "like RX-8" since Saturn had it way before Mazda. Let's give GM credit here.

Yes, saturn also uses it too.
Yes as an option it would add a little weight but I wouldn't expect it to be a huge amount nor a problem to those who don't get the option.

Re: Quad-Coupe GTO/Camaro
As long as it still looks like a coupe, then i see NO reason why a GTO could not have at least 1 suicide door to give easier access to the rear seats. I would have to believe it would also help sales.

It's tough to talk about this through two threads, but, like I said in the other one, a quad-door puts extra body seems and lines on the side of the car. In a segment where looks are so important. (hasn't GTO caught hell for being "bland"?)
As for helping the sales... the 05 GTO is going to sell out. It's on pace to do so with NO incentives at all the entire model year run except for the first third on the GM Employee Discount Pricing....
If the next gen GTO is not "capped" with an 18,000 or whatever unit ceiling, then you can look at trying to increase sales.... of course.... Mustang and Corvette are going extremely well without quad doors...
Again, everyone keeps igorning my Monte Carlo comments, but MC is a MUCH MORE viable place to use quad doors on a larger "coupe"... why cram it down the throat of the GTO?
