Looks Good! I'm seeing the hood in greater detail now... and I like it. It has similar creases like on my GTP. Some have complained, but I like the subtle similarity with 97+ GTP's found in the front clip of this car. If you're going to choose a design theme to emulate, it makes sense to use one which is also very popular. Grand Prix sales spiked 60% the first year of the current body style (1997) and the cars IMHO are modern classics. Anyone notice the caption... 340 hp

I kinda like it, mostly for it's "sleeper" effect. Pull up to most people and they would have NO idea what was under the hood. Bet you could surprise a lot of ricers

Well, may as well get this inevitable GTO debate started.
I like it. It's understated, low key, and packs the hardware do do some serious running, just like the original GTOs did. It doesn't rely on a bunch of ridiculous body work (like this: http://ultimategto.com/scripts/showc...999/99_00001_1 ) and it isn't covered in kiddie ground effects. The words that comes to mind is Tasteful & Understated, which to others may be Dull & Boring. It's all a matter of taste, and I'll admit, mine is a bit more low keyed than most.
Pontiac isn't going the gaudy look anymore. Look at the new Grand Am, the upcomming Grand Prix, and even the Bonneville. All are becoming low key in design. GTO is going along with the rest of Pontiac, just as it always has done.
I'll once again reinterate that the Monaro looks far more sinister in person than photographs can relate. If that picture was of a black or electric blue GTO instead of gold(?!
) and was taken in better light, it would do a far better job in carrying over it's actual look.
We've gone through this debate so many times I lost count, but to anyone who's going to jump on this subject:
1. Don't make yourself look like a complete idiot by saying that people will buy a 2 seat, $15,000 more expensive Corvette instead.
2. Don't parrot someone else's view that it's money that could have gone to the f-body. GM spent more money on the 2003 Cavalier's restyled nose & tail than GM/Holden spent doing this GTO.
3. If you are going to say GTO looks like a Grand Prix or Grand Am, be ready to also admit that all previous GTOs looked like other Pontiacs of each respective year... except for the cartoonish Judge and the '74 Ventura version, though both were still based on other routine Pontiacs.
4. Forget using the tired "it's too expensive for kids" view. It isn't for kids. Get over it.
5. And finally, don't come to the table with the Aussies can't build cars angle. If you never have been there, have never seen or driven their cars, and don't know anyone who has, quite frankly, you are talking out of the wrong end and the wrong opening. AFTER you take a look at GTO, then I suspect you'll be taken seriously.
Everything else is fair game.

I looks pretty good. The only complaint I really have about it is tacked-on ground effects package on the sides of the GTO that will date the car. I have never been a fan of add-on ground effects since they tend to be used on cheap cars and they tend to chip easy.
The GTO is a sure-fire sleeper that most likely looks even better in person since I dont beleive pictures really do it justice (and im not a big fan of yellow paint).

Not like its a law you have to buy a GTO...you don't like it just chill and dont worry bout it.

.....EVERY GTO had hood scoops (except the '74 Nova/GTO that stole the TA's shaker hood) to differentiate them from their boorish cousins..............................duckin' & runnin'.........

That yellow picture at the top of this thread is fake; it's a Photoshop. Unless the car comes with factory-installed front end misalignment ALso the lighting is totally fake and those wheels are NOT 18 inch. They are 18 inch on the red car, I'm guessing 17 inch on the yellow car. That picture is a recolored pic of the red car with different wheels pasted in.

One thing to think about: Who's to say that the production GTO's won't have an optional hood scoop? Simple fact is that none of us can be sure. Even if they DON'T offer a different hood, guess what? Aftermarket GTO hoods are probably already designed on the hard drives of many aftermarket companies; I have no doubt about it. They'd be dumb not to capitalize, in the event that Pontiac doesn't offer it.
Unrelated: I'll repeat what I heard straight from the mouth of Pete McCarthy when eluding to drivetrains / GTO heritage: "Personally I'm waiting for the '05 model, let's put it that way."
