theres actually barely any body roll in that picture and look how sharp the turn is........ any car would show some roll through a turn like that at speed. Plus is the inside front tire is off the ground a bit that usually means its showing less grip on that side.. .not more

Agreed! I don't get BMW's new styling direction at all. There's no unity or flow in the current designs.

Maybe they'll meet in the middle...

Doesn't it seem that in styling the trends appear to be something like...

BMW -> Pontiac

and...

Pontiac -> BMW

Strange, but oddly true.

I'm sorry, but I have yet to see ANYTHING-BMW in Pontiac. GTO excepted. I thought it to be a little strange reading reviewers of 2004 Grand Prix praising the car for the lack of body cladding and having a clean design, which supposedly brings it to BMW levels....

I think they mean that Pontiac usually has the more aggressive designs and BMW the more conservative. A look at Pontiacs new cars (especially the GTO) show that they are getting more conservative while the BMW's are getting "edgier."

I guess the Firebirds were never on their radar screen.

I dunno, i'm still trying to figure out what exactly they changed besides a few creases and vents. It seems BMW is only good at making redesigns when they hardly change anything, this is the first one thats been bearable.

I'm a little torn on the new 5-series.

I don't think it is the greatest looking car of all time, but I don't think it is bad either... the worst visual cue is the WRX-ish taillamps, IMO.

The previous 5-series, honestly, was pretty boring to me... I actually like the new one better overall.

Maybe I'm way off base here, though, cuz it'd be one of the few things Z28Wilson and I see differently on...
