Might be a repost but I haven't seen it before.
Great stuff. The component coordination and planning is just staggering. The thought of designing a new manufacturing plant from the ground up is even more amazing.
Watching this video and reading ACAR really gives you some idea of just how large an undertaking it is to bring a new vehicle to production. Unbelievable.
Watch for the knucklehead slamming an aluminum driveshaft around early on during installation.

Pretty cool to watch all of that go on. I can't imagine working in one of those plants with so much stuff going on and moving so fast... especially with robots as your co-workers.
Did anyone else notice the brand new truck pulling out of the assembly plant into the QC area with the burnt out right-hand side tail light (around 26 minutes and 45 seconds into it)?
I do wonder though, how with as much QC and computer-aided measurement as they do, how my 2000 Silverado managed to make it to the dealership sitting a full 2.5 inches higher on the left rear side as compared to the right rear side, as well as with a failing power steering pump.
What I really want to see is a tour of the Tahara Japan plant. The lowest defects of any plant in the entire world by a long shot for 9 years straight now!

Wow.............cool.
At about 7minutes in there's a guy putting the belt and fan on the engine - he's wearing a wife beater shirt and another at 15 wearing one too, only his is pink striped to go with his pink shorts...........hardly WCB approved attire......
Those welding robots in the body shop are truely impressive!
One wouldn't want to get in the way of those things......
