I think I read somewhere that the STS was softened because it needs to appeal to a broader consumer base than the CTS. I think they did a damn fine job. The roofline and front 1/4 shots remind me of Mercedes.

I'm not the least bit dissapointed, but i do agree with you on there being too much CTS in its design.

As for the V12...save that for the S/7 series fighter to come.
I agree, STSv will need something more exotic like a DOHC V10/V12 or Superchaged Northstar. Pushrod Gen IV will be too common in GM cars, Caddy needs something different.

Thumbs up

Not a bad looking car. I think that I like the looks of the 300C more though.

car looks great, but the vertical headlights on the front, just does not cut it. to me it looks like a cheap job of rushing CTS, by stretchings the cts front end, in fact, the whole car to STS.

Th rear end and side profile looks too much Grand Prix.

Interior looks amazing.

But on the exterior,

Just makes you feel better about a $35,000 300C =)

Ya, the embargo isnt up till the 4th i think. Saw these, as well as a few others a few weeks ago. Anyways, i love the interior, but i wish the exterior was a little more different than cts. It may be hard to tell them apart.

I didn't like the way the CTS looked and I think the STS is just as bad. They turned one of the nicest looking cars stylistically into a tall shoebox. Interior looks great but that exterior makes the car look too tall, too skinny and to boxy IMO compared to the low, wide stance of the old caddy.

The CTS along with all of Caddy's A&S design is a love it or hate it design. I personaly love the design as its not your average cookie cutter design out there.

YAAAAWWWWWWWWWNNNNNN
Is that the new Toyota Avalon?

What's with the new sidemarkers on the fenders? I didn't know Cadillac was a European comapany. At least they still have the Escalade and the Deville looks cool if you put on all the aftermarket goodies.

For everyone that hates the Arts & Sciences theme... I think you'd have a hard time making a case that it hasn't been mega-successful in one of the fastest, most significant turn-arounds of a brand in history.

I have never in my life seen a Cadillac improved by the addition of ANYTHING from the aftermarket - apart from a tasteful set of wheels.

Note the word "tasteful".

They're like Corvettes. Aftermarket junk just makes them look ghetto.

I like it, but it just looks a little "soft". I can't really explain it. I love the interior, though. I was always fond of the old STS too, but it definitely needed a change.

"Arts & Sciences" was fascinating on the Evoq and Imag concepts, but the production XLR and STS are horrible.

The STS does represent a new low. Not only is the dull-as-dirt silhouette borrowed from the last generation Seville, but all of that shared SRX "crossover" structure makes the car look dowdy.

By now, it should be obvious that "Art & Sciences" is just a palate of ugly design cues. I can't wait until the Epsilon based "entry level" Caddy premiers. Any takers for a Malibu with a CTS front clip?
