Official GTO pics.... hi res
Those are the hottest 23 images I've seen in a while! Especially the last one with L.A.'s night lights in the background.. dayum. This car is definitely going to sizzle..!
Do not be alarmed by the KM speedo/odo: You'll notice it says "000.013 km" with a DOT not a comma.. this is an indication of overseas measurement systems.. in other words, they have not touched it at all from the Australian version YET, but it will be converted to miles by production.
We still don't know about XM .. will the GTO have it??
GT
P.S. THESE are the true 18 inch wheels
That photoshopped yellow car was not a good representation. I thought these would be a little closer to 4thgen T/A wheels from when that tiny red thumbnail was leaked, but these look great, I'll take 'em!

Damn, I like it. Alot. Don't know if I can part with my Z to get one though.
It's about time GM does an interior like that. It's not as tough looking at the 4th gens, but I'd take a GTO over an LS1 Camaro or Firebird any day.

Wow ... Yesterday, I thought the GTO didn't look that great, but today .... that looks great.
The KPH speedometer looks funny, I doubt that is for the Canadian Market. Here the Speedo has both miles and KMs. Perhaps someone could tell me is Aussies have the same speedo and spell "litre" that way?
Great post ... thanks
Ted
Did anyone notice the exhaust ... two pipes out the rear of drivers side ....

It’s always nice to see the real deal….and it is in fact a very handsome car
The interior shots show what appears to be a level of quality not yet seen in a Pontiac….hopefully it will force the rest of GM to follow suit.
Unfortunately, success breeds greed and with a car of this stature, I’ll bet the dealers are already stocking up on the KY jelly...if ya’ get my drift..
I guess some are wondering if these shots will change the minds of those of us who have argued so strenuously about the lack of styling que's…..the answer is no.
Truth be told, this car should have been called the Tempest…..then the LS6 car could have earned the GTO label….with the extra HP and hopefully some styling to differentiate it from the “base” model.
I know some of us are being hard @$$e$ about this, but corporate styling is a cancer that threatens individual model identity and ultimately has many other negatives. Seen Dodge’s new commercial with four or five red cars…..ALL looking like the Attack of the Clones?!? Pontiac has already surrendered to this cancer.
Personally, I am keeping the fire lit to make sure the Camaro does not return with the fugly “spear” making it’s way onto every Chevy in the stable…….heaven forbid the Camaro gets the same truck front end that the Malibu pictures have shown.
Otherwise, I wish Holden ‘ GM ‘ Pontiac all the success in the world with this adventure……as it is a good sign of things to come!

The yellow paint does the GTO no justice. The car looks so much better in that deep red. I hope that's a production color. I bet the car looks good in any dark color.
The reason the emblem said "5.7 Litre" is because the early GTOs had a similar badge that said "6.5 Litre". Liter was spelled the same on the new car as it was on the old car; the English way. Hence, "Litre".
The rims are cool. I think they are a modern interpretation of the old Rally IIs. Anyone else agree?
I guess the only things that I would have wished for were that the twin grilles were deeply recessed, like the old Pontiacs. But that probably messes up airflow over the nose. And that it got a dual outlet system with the pipes exiting on both sides of the rear bumper. But maybe that will change with the production model.
That interior is kick a$$!!!. GMNA is going to have to play catch up with their home brewed cars now. Once the media and buyers see what GM is capable of, they will demand it throughout the whole product line. I love the interior with the color coordinated inserts. Very cool!!!
I think if I had a regular 4th gen F-body, I might consider trading it for the new GTO. But not my Collector Edition. I'll just have to wait a bit and buy one a few years from now.
After I add another bay to my garage.

Wow, the first non GTO bashing thread.
I think it looks pretty good as well. I cant wait to see one on the dealer lot. I also wonder how theyll sound... hopefully a nice growl will originate from those true duals.

That is so Pontiac looking. The GTPs have had a look like that since '97 and the T/A Collector Edition has the same look. I hope that look makes it to the GTO.
And guys, check out the official GTO launch web site (see my latest post). They show a pic of the engine. It looks SWEET. The FRCs (Fuel Rail Covers) are awesome.
And a couple of other things that I would like to point out. One good, one bad.
First the bad. Look at the close-up pic of the gauge cluster. There's a speedo, tach, fuel level, and temp gauge. Where in the hell are the oil pressure and voltmeter gauges?
This is a performance car and therefore should have a full compliment of gauges. Get on this immediately Pontiac!!
And the good. Check out the pedals. A dead pedal for your clutch foot AND drilled, aluminum-look pedals. Very cool!!!
Guys,
Now is the time to tell Pontiac what we like about the GTO and what we don't like. Go to their website and tell them what you think. But be positive, intelligent, and articulate. We want Pontiac to listen to us. Not think that we are a bunch of ya-hoos.
