Some of the Mustang crowd seems to like it.

There's room for all opinions...

I bought my wife a 2LT Malibu. Fabulous car.

As of interior material choices?

I love anything from the Alcantara family of materials.

The 2LT Malibu is very much in that school.

Its a lot nicer then the full leather Malibu. I LOOOVE the contrasting seat textures. Great stuff.

By the pics, I'd guess the CXL will be similar in trim to the 2LT malibu and the turbo Regal to the LTZ Malibu.

So a decked out LTZ Malibu for $26,995 or a likely better equipped, nicer interior, more powerful CXL Regan for $2500 more. Honestly, probably not that bad...
CXL will be the top trim for Regal. GS will be a performance trim.
All 2010 Regals are CXL because they are all coming from Germany.

The CXL is the "Top Trim" the same way "LT" is top trim at Chevrolet - so not really.

Based off the standard equipment on a "CXL1" for $26,995 - it is not actually equipped like the Malibu LTZ. Pay the $2500 more for the "CXL2" "Turbo CXL" and then I think the comparison is better. Even in CXL1 form, it is a better value than the Malibu LTZ - but for luxury options and toys, the GS is better equipped.

We know the GS is the "performance spec" (Like SS is for Chevrolet) - but we also all know the SS is the one that gets the best luxury options - so I object to CXL being called "Top Trim" by that account as well.

And judging by the equipment, I'm very curious what the final pricetag will be.

Thumbs up

I have the GM upgrade kit for the LNF on my Sky 290hp/340tq. My mileage actually increased. I can still hold low 40s for mpg in the 45-55mph range. Over that and I drop to mid 30s and at 80mph I pull low 30s.

As mentioned, I would like to see a LNF based 4.0 V8 from GM. That would be insane.
