Re: New Infiniti G35 Sedan

The rounded shape will age this car quickly, just like the current design did.

And the horizontal buttons for the Nav unit? That will fade away quickly too. This reminds me of so many "unique" Japanese designs of the 80's that tried to do things differently and failed in the long run. Eventually all fled to standard, classic design styles.

Re: New Infiniti G35 Sedan

The car seems to be selling fine and this will keep it quite competive. The G undercuts the 3 series in price except in base like caddy and performs nearly identical or better than it. I think it beat the 3 series in one Car and Driver test.

As for the next CTS we shall see how she looks, if they dont go far enough, they will be too conservative, if they go too far the car will be too gaudy. The new G35 is somewhat conservative but it uses that style for those who dont want to look fast or like a rap star. For those who fly (fast) under the radar.

I remember alot of people including myself didnt like the CTS when it came out, I thought it was UGLY. Lines were too sharp. Its amazing how good it looks to me now, the car lead the way and brought caddy cars back on the map. With that being said the next cts should have 300hp from the 3.6L and they need to fix the rear end failures. I love that we can compare the CTS with the G35 and BMW. Caddy has come so far in the past 5 years.

BTW Infiniti, Caddy, and BWM can keep their $2000 nav systems, thats the biggest rip off yet.

Then you dont have to look at all dem buttons

With ~320 or 330hp this will be a screamin' little sedan.

Translation: Torque arrives at 6000 RPM.

Well, of course not!

However, Nissan's 3.5L has never been too short on torque (for a *** 6cyl). The 3600+ lb Automatic ALL WHEEL DRIVE G35X runs the 1/4 in 14.5 seconds. Heck, that's better than Caddy's 3.6L auto 2wd! If the motor was anything like a Vtec honda, it'd be in the 15's like the Acura RL.

My point was, that it most likely has the VQ 3.5L engine, it must have been re-worked to rev higher, and I'd ASSUME it hasn't lost too much of the low torque. So, there's a huge powerband up top which would be great for playing with, with a 6spd.

This picture looks alot better.

Oh, 300+hp SAE (Nissan hasn't rated any of their engines SAE yet).

Paddle shift 5spd auto with rev matching downshifts.

Check out how bad the quarter panel fits where it meets the rear bumper cover. I dont think its just the lighting, it shows in other pictures as well.

Dont discredit VTEC. It is a really amazing technology that allows engines with small displacement and torque to propel the car fast.

Take a look at current 197 HP Civic SI. Pathetic HP #, in my opinion. Yet it runs 14.8 in the quarter-mile with just 139 lb/ft of torque.

The early VTEC motors used just 1.6L. And they were music to one's ears at high RPMs. GM still does not make 4-cylinder engines that sound nice.

Correction: 4 cylinders themselves don't sound nice, unless they are running a turbo.

Never a G35 Sedan fan, I am sure this would look much better in coupe form.

Re: New Infiniti G35 Sedan

It looks like it wants to be a hatchback/wagon or something. There is that clock too... I think it will sell, but im not sure I like the way it looks.
