MM&FF should be able to find at least 12.5. Did Evan Smith ever test the 2010 Camaro? If so what was he getting out of it?

Good tests so far. Think about how far Ford has come with the GT, their base V8, it's a legitamite 12 sec ET car now.

I still think most drag races with the Camaro SS will be a drivers race but its now the GT's race to win.

And double-especially on the rather skinny tires the GT comes with. That's really the only handicap on the Mustang compared to Camaro that I can see.

As for his hopes, 115mph seems a bit of a stretch. I could see 112, maybe a little better if you're powershifting the hell out of it and / or some really good air.

Ford fanboys accusing me of being a Chevy nuthugger and Chevy fanboys accusing me of the opposite. Get the picture?

I was actually hoping the stang would give me a reason to scramble out to a dealer this summer and drop some cash, but I can confidently say there's nothin special going here.

BTW, C&D just ran 13.2@109... ooops.

I would not expect 115 mph traps from the stock GT. LS3 Corvettes trap in the 116-117 range with more power and 300-400 lbs less weight, plus much more rear tire and better aero.

I'm waiting for an A6 test. It might be faster.

Motor Trend dynoed the 11 GT at 377 rwhp. They figured with a 15% drive train loss the car was really making around 435hp at the flywheel.

I am waiting to see production cars people are buying and what they dyno.

I would like to know how many pulls the Motor Trend crew made on the car. Edmunds was the one that got 395rwhp out of the 2011 GT, which I believe to be a ringer. But they said it took 7 dyno pulls to achieve a repeatable number. It said the ECU kept probing the limits of the 91 octane gas and each pull the numbers went up.

The GT will not trap 115 mph. I think you might see a 113 on a perfect day but even that is probably a stretch. 112mph will probably be about the best you will see.
