They haven't stopped making them yet, and now it seems Maurader may live on for a couple more years.
Everything I have seen says that current orders will be filled, and then it's over. I hope that is wrong.

The 6 bolt aluminum block could easily handle the power. Ask some of the major modular builders like Randy Haywood at True Blue Performance about it. I was at his shop one day where he had 4 Cobra engines that had destructed under massive boost. 3 had destroyed the rods and one snapped the crank (at around 800 hp). None of the 4 blocks were damaged. As hard as that is to believe, especially since I have split a thin walled roller 5.0, they were sitting right there for all to see. The aluminum blocks are already running into the 7's, their durability is proven.

The 99 fiasco had NOTHING to do with the block.

so is the 5.4 going to be iron or aluminium? wouldn't iron be wayyyy to heavy to think about putting into a performance car (I know the SVT Lightning folks probably don't care one way or the other)

Assuming your speaking of the 5.4 from the Ford GT(40) yes it is aluminum.

He knows that, he just means that Ford does not want another problem in general with thier performance leader.
