I'm not a Ford guy but..........if I had to choose between those two cars I would take the Mustang.

The GTO has zero style.

The Mustang is loaded with it.

I would prefer the GTO (and pay more for it) since the GT should cost 18K IMHO>....

It's true the goat looks like a bloated cavalier, but it gets a lot of sleeper points. The exhaust is great, and I really don't like Ford. If i had the money, I would deff get a GTO.

Hands down here id take the GTO over the GT stang.

The GTO does look good maybe not as good as the new stangs.

Now think of this, summer of 2006 everywhere u go Stangs everywhere now wouldnt u want a car that you dont see everywhere??? Its like seeing a Honda Civic everywhere comapred to a Corvette. Then take em to the track and the GTO will look better because it will win.

An 05 GTO without question.

The bolt on to the 9's Cobra was a bargain . The only thing that coulda made it better was a 8.8 stuffed with moser axles , 4.30's and a HD eaton posi instead of the IRS .
Same goes for GTO vs. Mustang GT then.

The results so far are surprising. 39 for GTO, 34 for Mustang. And these results on a GM board. Just imagine the results in the general public.

I don't think it's that surprising. A lot of Camaro owners bought their car because of the value it represents and the stand out styling. Now, granted soon their will be a lot of those new 05 stangs running around, but the car has a good design and looks great on the outside. It's the closest thing to an F-body on the road today!

Too bad GTO doesn't have a spoiler delete option like Mustang does.

How could it be a GTO without a spoiler... the 69 GTO had a spoiler, it isn't a real GTO without a spoiler

Personal preference....but I just think GTO looks alittle nicer without it's spoiler. I've seen acouple where the owners removed them and filled the holes, and I think it looks pretty cool.

I think the Mustang looks better without it's spoiler also.

GTO does look nice without the spoiler, I disagree about the Mustang, to me the car looks odd without it... but I also thought the Cobra R looked sweet with it's spoiler.

My GTO will be losing its spoiler sometome soon-I hate the thing. I've got some other plans for it too.

1. The salesman was a moron. Anybody that drives into a dealership in a big SUV with their wife and kids in tow isn't going to wreck, steal or abuse a Mustang GT on a test drive. The salesman should have stayed at the dealership or at the very least should have sat in the back himself.

2. Personally, I like 2+2 seating because it discourages all but the most determined of unwanted backseat passengers. For some of us, true 4-passenger seating is actually a major inconvenience.

I hate to admit it, but you're right.
