An upcoming mid-sized sedan from Ford that shares platforms with the mazda6.

KillerTA, i would think high 13's?? The mazda6 isn't that heavy (2900-3,070lbs), and even with the added weight of the AWD system, i think it'll still come in under 3300lbs. Given the hp, tq, and AWD, i think it should be capable of high 13's at least. EVO which isn't that much lighter runs low to mid 13's with close to the same hp rating.

The 2004 Mazda 6s sedan is 3241 lb's. The 2005's are heavier (~50 lb's), and the hatch is heavier than the sedan.

An AWD Mazda 6 is gonna be 3500+ lbs IMO.

Quite possibly unless special lightwieght parts are used (which i doubt).

Searched carpoint, and it looks like the weight varies from trim to trim. The 4cyl base with a manual weighs in at 3,045lbs, and the S with the v6 weighs in at the 3,241lbs you mentioned.

Well good. The more turbo awd cars in the market the better. well kinda. The days of dsm's scaring the crap out of a lot of unsuspecting people are long gone, but its still fun.

Re: MazdaSpeed6

wonder how much the AWD gear and turbo parts are going to add in weight? If we had any precedent in mazdas history to compare this to (an awd midsize with a turbo powerplant) itd be easier to make an educated guess...

No, the Fusion will be based off teh Mazda 6. The Volvo car is the Ford 500.
