Nice first month. I saw one in the dealer as well and it's an extremely attractive vehicle - in and out.

Me personally? I've driven AWD Vibes around our unplowed lot in the winter before we clean up, and compared them to FWD. The difference is amazing. But for me? I'll save the $2k, and spend $400 for 4 good snow tires. AWD can help me get going, but a FWD with snows will corner and stop better in snow, get better MPG and be SIGNIFICANTLY quicker (driving an AWD Vibe after a FWD makes you feel like the E-brake is on).

But that's me...most people don't believe in snow tires anymore.
See, as a snow driver myself, I dont agree that AWD only helps you get going. I have driven in straight lines with rwd and fwd and started to go off the road. Thats not to mention hills. AWD and 4wd may spin the tires slightly but the almost always stay straight if you let off the gas.

Saw an HHR the other day, and it looked unique to say the least. I need to go check one out at a dealership, and see what the interior feels/looks like.

The only way I can see where AWD would help you go straight is due to the additional weight of the car...obviously, a heavier car won't skitter in the slush as much. Otherwise, if you're just cruising down the road and not hitting the gas, I can't see how AWD will help. And yes, I agree that AWD on hills is better if you're going slowly. If you're cruising along, with FWD or RWD you should theoretically be able to make it up the hill anyway.

Ok, I gotta tell ya, I thought the HHR was just going to be ok by looking at pictures. Now after seeing two of them today at the Chevy dealer I was very impressed! The size is perfect. It looks very well put together, inside and out. The interior great! This thing should do well. I always said I would never have a fwd vehicle, but I'll have to make an exception for the HHR. I want one.

I just saw my first one in real life yesterday on a delivery. Oh man...I wasn't even really looking forward to it but wow....these cars are attractive! It was in SOM (my fav. color) so I had to ask the guy if I could take pics with my camera phone and he was cool with it. I can't wait to see more of these on the street.

Someone in my area just bought one. And my buddy rides by one of the dealers near the NJ shore on his route for work, he says every time a new one shows up, it quickly disapears, and another one shows up!
