I haven't seen one live yet.

I'm part of the "needs AWD" choir.

They fit a viper v10 in the PT, why not an ls2 in the HHR?

Exactly! Why not! The awd ppl have a point too, I bet that would help sales.

Would anyone really spring for AWD on a car that is supposed to be an entry level car? It isn't supposed to be a performance car or a large SUV and is FWD, so I would think that the number of people who would actually pay the premium for AWD is very small.

By the way, what is the cheapest car that offers AWD? Is it the Imprezza?

I've liked it from the get-go too. I've seen them on transports, but not at a dealership yet. Looking forward to seeing one up close.

I still say that with the price point and the features combnied with a different look (even if it is in the PT Cruiser mold) Chevy will have no problem meeting sales projections... I think they will exceed them to be honest. HHR is going to be a hit.

I said the same thing and agree. The HHR is just almost....pointless enough that people will go gaga over it and buy them in huge amounts.

Ditto. Plus, an AWD HHR and an HHR SS would make the Vibe redundant.

I don't think there is any possibility for an awd version unless the cobalt gets one also..

Vibes are our best selling cars (go figure ). Anyway, in the Northeast here, I sell twice as many AWD as FWD ones. For the extra $2,000 ($2,500 if you consider ABS is standard on an AWD, but $500 on a FWD), its a no brainer for many?

Me personally? I've driven AWD Vibes around our unplowed lot in the winter before we clean up, and compared them to FWD. The difference is amazing. But for me? I'll save the $2k, and spend $400 for 4 good snow tires. AWD can help me get going, but a FWD with snows will corner and stop better in snow, get better MPG and be SIGNIFICANTLY quicker (driving an AWD Vibe after a FWD makes you feel like the E-brake is on).

But that's me...most people don't believe in snow tires anymore.
