The local dealership got an HHR in...
Re: The local dealership got an HHR in...
I saw an SOM HHR going down the road yesterday and it's a cool looking car in person. I don't think it's as PT like as many thought it would be. It's really a different look. The PT is probably the closest thing on the market that a comparison can be drawn to, but I don't think anyone could mistake one for the other.

My dearlership also took delievery of an orange hhr. I am very surprise how good this thing looks. It is turning alot of heads around my area which is a very good thing for chevrolet. I think this thing could be a big hit if the right powerpland and awd was made available. It is already a good start that its availble in a manual trans.
Re: The local dealership got an HHR in...
I saw and sat in a steel grey one today...$20,000 even as an LT2 with an automatic. VERY nice looking car
My friend hated it, but only because he said "in an SUV-like vehicle, you shouldn't be able to see over the roof so easily"
The car looks far better in person, and even though it is shorter than I imagined, it looks really cool and the price seems more than reasonable!

Guy is going to do a complete reversal on the HHR. I now think it's going to do extremely well. You probally will to as soon as you see it next to a PT Cruiser.
I know Brian Nesbitt designed both the PT and then later the HHR (probally the biggest irony in automotive history since the same guy who created Cadillac moved on to create Lincoln), but his updated "PT" is certainly more modern... another irony... and makes the PT look downright old.

Re: The local dealership got an HHR in...
I love it, I never did like it in pictures, but damn the colors make it so beautiful. The only thing I might disagree about it is it being so small but seeming large, like a suv... I've seen two on car trailers now one purple and one orange, and I can say they are worth a look if not a buy.
well I start at my local dealership as a salesman so I will tell you how I like it, if anyone cares

I was one of the few people who said HHR was going to be a hot seller from the beginning, and a lot of people disagreed with me....(this coming from an ANTI-retro guy!)
I still say that with the price point and the features combnied with a different look (even if it is in the PT Cruiser mold) Chevy will have no problem meeting sales projections... I think they will exceed them to be honest. HHR is going to be a hit.

You know, I think I am beginning to like this vehicle too. I have not seen one outside of the autoshow floor but the more real life pics I see, the better it looks. I too think it could be very successful, especially at that price. Now all it needs is the Cobalt SS motor or maybe the Solstice turbo 4.
Re: The local dealership got an HHR in...
I still think it will tank. Sorry, but it's getting slammed hard by everyone who reviews it based solely on the fact that the vehicle is a 5-year old copy of a retro design that got old two years ago.

Funny the reviews I seen say its way ahead of the PT in many ways. I have not seen one negetive review.

The Edmunds review is not really bad. They also dredged up the power does not meet the styling argument that everyone said about the PT in the begining. That really impacted the PT sales huh? They do complain about the driving dynamics, something that has been praised in head to heads with the PT. Particularly the seating position was praised as being much better and allowing the tossable HHR to be much more fun to drive.

In person, it doesn't look quite as retro. Obviously retro is the underlying theme here, but it doesn't smack you in the face like a Mustang does. It looks sporty, and actually a little mean in person
With the smaller windows, aggressive fenders and great looking hood, sporty is the first thing that comes to mind when I saw it...not so much retro.
