Have only seen 1 or 2 around here. I've seen more Scions then the Civics, and the Scions around here are pretty rare.

FWIW, I don't care for them. They look too much like a Prius....enough said.

I think the old Civic sedan looks better. I looked at then, they are ok for basica transpotation I guess. Nothing ground breaking. 40mpg hwy from a non-hybrid is nice though.

They are alright. Nothing I find myself looking at twice though.

Pretty sporty. I was surprised when i looked up the stats and saw that the EX (not the performance Si) was pulling something like 63mph in the slalom. That's what the 4th gen z28 and sn95 mustangs were pulling. I'm sure the EX's overall handling isn't as good as a 4th gen z28/ss, but the little thing is tossable even with the crappy small tires and soft suspension tuning and all. The Si with the more performance-oreinted suspension/tire/wheels is impressive though.

I like it too. I'm not a bad fan of the dash layout, but it seems functional i guess. Offering a Navigation system was a great idea too (only compact that offers it). And it is all priced well.

Overall, it a big step over the previous gen and other compacts currently on the market.

I think it looks very cool, btw. Flame away.
No flaming here ... I agree, it looks good, both 2-dr & 4-dr.

What kind of performance are we talking about, anyway?

Slow 1/4, good handling. That's how civics have always been...

We've heard of cab forward. The new civic is the first car with "cab everywhere."

Is it just me, or does anyone else think the Civic peaked with the 2000 or so Si model?

I never thought I'd live to see Civics that cost 20k, let alone people who would pay that much. What car can you buy new for 14k these days?

The front end is too Saturn to get past, and it was better executed at Saturn. I hate the front. Also the front profile shown above in the link is disgusting. It looks refined. That counts for something. The coupe looks ungainly to me. But it looks upscale and modern, moreso than the standard Cobalt coupe./

That style front end is obviously mimicking the acuras aka upscale hondas overseas. And you'd have to be on something serious to believe honda/acura is copying Saturn...

I didn't realize Civics were known for their handling. Every stock Civic I have been in has handled like ****.

I think the previous gen was a much better design . The current is just too qwirky . From the radically sloping hood , the bubblesce green house , the odd shapes for the taillights . Its just a total turnoff . I sat in one , and the interior is to futuristic for my tastes . Its really pretty damn wierd . Honda did score I guess where it counts . It feels like a vault , the materials used look fantastic and the price is right .

The Accent and Rio come to mind.

I think that the Civic has attractive styling, but does look like a hybrid from certain angles. Especially the pic at the posted link. It'd make a great year-rounder, but I have my 3rd gen to beat up on for that.

Re: I've been seeing LOTS of new Civics.

I kinda like the new Civic coupes too. I think the body looks good, the rear looks very good (makes the Cobalt coupe's look dated). Not really crazy about the grill, though. But at least it works with the rest of the car.

Not a fan of the sedan. But then again, outside of the Grand Prix, the Charger, and to a lesser extent, the 300 and the old Countour SVT, I'm not a big fan of any sedans.
