Before they paved it over for a strip mall, Baylands Raceway in Fremont, CA was a very fast track.

Thanks.
It was a post on another website. It was linked to Camaro5.

It is hearsay though.

And if he did run that with a 3.31 car....damn.

Ok. I saw the post on MOMs. And while I am confident it is possible, I'd like to see the owner come into the post and talk about it vice someone else just saying the saw it. Until then, like you said, its hearsay (not that this couldn't be true of many things on the internet....lol).

Thanks for the info though.

A Mustang guy on another forum (drag racer type) weighed his new 2011 GT. Very interesting results:

Just weighed my 2011 Mustang GT Base (300A) w/ Manual 6-Speed.
Only Option is 3.55 Gears. This is not a Spoiler Delete Car.

Dry Shipping Weight (MSO): 3461 lb

Curb Weight - Light (3 gal of Fuel): 3520 lb
Weight Distr: 1920 lb (54.5%) F / 1600 lb (45.5%) R

Curb Weight - Full (16 gal of Fuel): 3600 lb
Weight Distr: 1940 lb (53.9%) F / 1660 lb (46.1%) R

That was on a Certified Scale that weighs individual axles and total seperately.
Should be accurate +/- 10 lb.

6 pounds lighter than the spec. That's one gallon of gasoline.

I guess I was thinking the "spec" wouldn't be with a full tank of fuel. I'm surprised at the 3520 weight with just a few gallons. that's how I'd race it.

That sounds pretty reasonable for a base model car with little fuel. The curbweight we have seen from Ford does not differentiate between base and premium and I have seen a GT premium with Brembo's weighed in at around 3620 if I remember correctly.

Isn't the current Mustang around the size of a 4th Gen Camaro? Maybe a little taller and a touch narrower? My "base" Camaro weighed in at 3389 with 3/4 tank of fuel, jack, spare tire, etc. on certified scales. 3520 sounds about right given modern safety standards and "base" features.

This is the first GT I could see myself driving that's for sure. I'm becoming a Ford fan quickly, especially after the new Edge Limited and F150 Lariat I have ridden in/driven recently.

The curb weight specification is supposed to be with all fluids topped off. So this is right where it's supposed to be. In California, where we have the vapor recovery fuel tanks, we're not supposed to top-off, so we'd probably be a few pounds short of curb weight. Also, if windshield washer fluid is down a pint, that's another pound. Etc.

Good job Ford in getting the estimate correct.

The 10.58 is the fastest modified run, and 12.58 is the fastest stock run.

Oh my...didn't expect this....bone stock A6 5.0 went 12.73 @ 115 mph last night:

Just got back from the track, i am very happy to say the least. Right off the freeway into the staging lanes after tech the first pass i did a 12.85 @ 114.8 Did a little cool down and dropped to 12.80 @115.171 with no cool down right back to the staging lanes it blasted to a 12.73@115.59 i was so surprised for a auto to be this fast and consistent. I did 8 passes all ranging from 12.88 to the 12.73. This is 100% stock with 400 miles on the clock and stock tires at 35psi launching on idle with the traction control on. The best part was seeing the driver of the New Camaro ss with his newly installed long tubes drop his jaw at the times while his best was a 13.09 @ 110
Ill get the videos of passes from my buddy here shortly and post them up
More...

The weather honestly was perfect mid 70s couldn't of asked for better. All the runs where with 2.0 60 foots so im thinking these auto 5.0s with a nice stall and sticky tires with gears should be low 12s high 11s easy stock motor
