someone on the youtube comments said that the car did a full run a lil bit AFTER this happened so i take it the engine aint blown.

SO MM&FF went 12.69 @ 112.xx and felt like there may have been some more left. Rarely does someone better their time, but it does happen.

Thus far, we have a best of a 12.6 from both the Camaro and the Mustang. Very impressive and very competetive.

What still impresses me the most everytime I read a review is how perfectly geared the new Mustang is. Order it with 3.73's, add a little power, bolt on some slicks and let her rip. From their you can tune with tire diameter and redline. What a great package for the weekend racer.

I hope GM takes note of Fords new appraoch to a performance car cause we could really use some of that gearing. Even a lower rear gear option would just be a bandaid for the relatively poor transmission gearing. But a much needed bandaid in my mind.

Remember a stock 3.31 base 2011 GT ran 12.70s stock at 112mph w/ around a 2ish 60ft time.

The 12.6 was from an owner. The fastest mag time I have seen was 12.8.

That is why I caveated my post by saying it is rare, but someone could run faster than MM&FF ran since it sounded like they didn't spend much time on stock tires. However, for the 4th Gen Camaro, GT500, Corvette Z06, etc. there have been few if any who have ran faster than Evan Smith. Running at Atco is a big part of that.

Who's test was that? MM&FF's car had 3.73 gears and ran a 12.69 and a backed it up with a 12.72 if I remember the article correctly. Yes, the 60' was around 2.0 but the launch is described as very good with just a eek of tire squeel and no bog. Remember that the GT only has 255 width street tires to work with, eventhough they are sticky.

The article said that with enough time they felt like a 12.5 might be possible. Thats 03/04' Cobra best time territory!

Suck it GM! Ouch, that hurts, but its true.

If was a private owned car by a performance shop baseline testing.

For those who are not aware, We took delivery of our 2011 GT Manual Trans on Thursday evening (with 21 miles). We took the car to a track rental on friday put on by the guys over at mustangcollective.com.
On the factory wheels and tires the car went a handful of 13.1x and a 12.94, and a 12.95, best MPH was 111.
Drove the car to Atco for the NMRA event and ran truestreet, the car ran 12.77, 12.78, and 12.85 all at 112mph. 60fts all hovered around 2.0

So let me just say that the car is pretty stout in stock form, The e.t. above can be trimmed on a bit as I had wicked tire spin into second gear every time, with tires I would have to guess that the car would have 12.40's maybe even a .30.
Our car is just simply a 400a "premium" with no other options, 3.31 gears!
With a little over 1000 miles on the car I can say that this is definitly the best mustang GT ever made. Super Quiet, Super Comfortable, Super Fast.

All this at nearly 26mpg at nearly 85mph for each leg of the 900 plus mile round trip.

I'll try get up some vid and pics.

Just like I thought, as more people get their hands on them and they get broken in, the times are getting more and more impressive.

Evo said they cut a 1.40 60ft time today in their 2011 GT.

Don't know if more mods were added since the 10.88 run though. The car did run a 10.58 @ 127 mph w/ a 1.43 60ft.

Said it lifted the front tires about 2 feet off the ground. Can't wait to see the pictures.

Nice! Was the fastest (dont care for the source) bone stock time for the F5 around the same or a bit faster?

I seem to remeber the guys on Camaro5 crowing about a 12.5x stocker.

Evan does typically get the most out of the cars he tests, but in this case, it depends on where MM&FF ran the car and in what conditions. If it was out in California, then there is little doubt it can be beat.

Regardless....cool air....learning to drive it....I think you'll see the 5.0 at least as quick as the reported quickest bone stock 2010 SS - which as stated above, is a 12.58.

May I ask where you're getting that info from? I knew he went 12.7s with the 3.31s.

Thanks.
