I thought that the 2005 Mustang was on the Lincoln LS platform? Isn't the Lincoln LS platform an IRS?

Higher end Mustangs will STILL have IRS .

4 Doors or not, if that's what it takes for the Camaro to be successful, so be it. I think it's sweet looking. It looks much better from a side profile.

And get this , the cheif eng. on the mustang program said " The other core customers concerned about keeping a rugged , simple live axle are the mustang enthusiasts who evaluate performance a 1/4 mile at a time . For drag racers the live rear axles anvil like toughness and relative ease of changing rear end ratios far outweigh the handling and ride advantages of IRS."

There should AT LEAST be an option to get an IRS on the GT for those who can't afford a Cobra. Ford's IRS is probably one of the worst in the game, but at least it bolts up to the same points on the current platform as the live axle does.

I think it's an awesome looking car, aside from the RX-8 frontend that needs to go.

Hey, well if you can't see the doorhandles, who cares? Don't get me wrong, I'd prefer it to be a 2dr model also, but it wouldn't hurt my feelings if it had half-doors like Saturns did or something else to make the car more useful.

I would love for the fbody to have a live axle on the SS and an IRS on the Z28, that'd be a great way to differentiate (sp?) them as a strip performer and a road course car, back to the grass roots. But I'd assume itd cost too much to r&d and tool for both of them, and we all know how GM loves to spend money on the fbody.
But I still havnt come around on the SS concept. I'd like a more upright car. Its just too bubbly for me, maybe when I see it in person it'll change my mind. It'd be nice to imagine it with 2 doors in person, too.

The SS concept will not be a Camaro, that was already confirmed. Think Chevelle.

I know that there was 4 door versions during its' run but I think that Chevelle fans wouldn't like it either.

It's not some puss family sedan or compac car, that's why.Why do you think that there are no traditional 4dr muscle cars/hotrods,NOBODY wants them-me included. That would be the ultimate insult to Camaro fans.

they wont screw it up
I would say that they wont dare re submit a camaro that strays from its musclecar demeaner, but look what they are giving to us in the NAINAS this year, its a disgrace. Luts is not impressing me yet, but maybe he will hold out untill he does it right. Lets not rush a bad design just so we can have a camaro. Lets be patient. Most good GM cars take some time off, like the vette! It WILL be back, just in what form is what we need to worry about.
