wow...this is funny..AWD to heavy this and that...I would love to get a nice WRX STi for 25K around here and do some minor mods..and keep up with the F-bodies..and then when our cars are stuck drive by them in an AWD car..thats just as fun and almost as fast..with FOUR doors and a FOUR BANGER!!!!

Time and tech have changed and made what was not common on cars common..look at WRC cars..they are not fast???
0-60 times in the 5's ON GRAVEL/ dirt!!!

trust me I love RWD smokey burn outs..but if you could get an AWD GTO for a winter car and have a new 2007 Z28 in the garage I would take it...look at the new G35's from Infinity..AWD and AWSOME cars!!!

AWD should be an option on the new GTO..

and the supercar statement is moot..how many supercars you see in the snow..they are for nice sunny DRY roads..like race courses..why? they are race cars with bumpers....therefore AWD is not needed...and besides..only old crusty guys that drive 20MPH drive those cars..from what I have seen..

AWD is good and I would take it..ESPECIALLY if you had the 2 feet of snow we got here..my Z is sliding all over the place..sucks!!!

STI cost $32K not $25K and that is without a stereo. No car can do 0-60 in 5 on gravel and dirt unless it has spikes coming out of the wheels or treads. AWD only helps in the snow if you have 2 wheels stuck or you are going up a steep hill. 2 feet of snow and you will still get stuck, it is all about ground clearance. as long a RWD car is close to 50/50 and has traction control and good tires it will be fine in the snow.

On the other hand I would love it if GM made a AWD V8 car. G8 baby

25K here in the paper..advertised..cus the Evo here is going for 23K...

and the 0-60 on dirt..I concour..they did a write up about it the WRC cars that these street cars are based on..and they do it. I think it was the Focus rally car they tested. it was in a Euro mag with the rally cars and the street cars of the same..I think they had the peugot (sp) version also..

think this way...the Eagle Talon and Eclipse?? or the GMC twins of terror...AWD and fast as anything..with some tuning..

a modern AWD muscle car is possible and should be herald as something good.
just got my Z out of another stuck in the snow problem..all I can say is..AWD Camaro..call it a RS..and sell it..I would buy it!!!

Wow that is cheap , I wouldn't have expected those prices form a limited production car, they must be selling like ****. the are only importing 4000 STIs a year. Even the SRT-4 is selling at about MSRP and they are uping production to 13,000

Are you sure that add wasn't for the regualr WRX? they sell for about $24K-$27K
