Ran to the dealership and picked up a brochure..one thing that stood out was the NINE cubic feet of trunk space!!! I know that won't matter to most buyers, and I knew they had to compromise on trunk space, but come on, even the convertable corvette has about 13.5...I'd like to see what's taking up the space

The relocation of the gas tank is what is taking up more trunk space.

I believe guionM posted a comparison of trunk sizes not too long ago. Basically, the C5 is a freak. It's unheard of for most cars to have 13.5 cubic feet of trunk space today, let alone a performance roadster! The GTO is actually about average in the cargo department.

I know, off topic , but I thought it was interesting.

I dont think the trunk space will be an isue with the GTO.

Like Z28wilson said, it's the relocated fuel tank (formerly under the trunk). GTO still has the same trunk space as the same sized Mustang, and if I'm not mistaken the Cavalier as well.

Wilson's right about the Corvette too, as far as luggage space, it is extremely large compared to other performance cars.

The Monte Carlo is 15.8 cu ft. So in short, just pack light in a GTO!

the trunk is the only negative thing i can see on the GTO, especially knowing where the tank was originally intended to go, but i suppose on the plus side you have an easier access to do dual exhaust outlets.

and that brochure looks badass (sure this isn't holden's handywork?)...

seems like the GTO is a stripper version of the Monaro , with a bucket load more power.

Was the LS6 rumor for the second year ever confirmed, or is it still speculation? To me, that seems like the engine the car was supposed to have from the start.
