GTO Brochure Pictures
Well scanned the GTO Brochure, here they are. I don't think anyone can get mad at me for promoting a product...

I like those new wheels a lot and the color matching gauges is a very nice touch.

Are the 2 grills chrome?? I really dislike that there is no Bright Red or regular Gloss Black available or how they changed the rims to those instead of keeping the 1's from the Show Car. Still unimpressed and waiting for the required improvements. Looks like 04 will definetly not have any of them.

Thank you for the pictures,
Personally, I like what I see; the option to customize the interior and gauge colors is certainly nifty, but the interior overall really dates that of my Trans Am - 'bout damn time, too...
Sure the GTO's heritage isn't really visible, but what's offered looks to me like a damn fine package in itself... Good power, throaty exhaust, contemporary interior, and a subtle exterior really appeal to me (there'll be no 'Batmobile' cracks while driving this V8 Pontiac)
I'll have to make a point to visit my dealer for a closer look; what's shown has certainly peaked my interest.

I was hoping the GTO would retain all the Monaro interior colors, but they seemed to have dropped the yellow and green colors.
Obviously I'm also dissapointed the car doesn't have the Ram Air hood or twin dual exit exhaust.
My only gripe is the car is a sweet car with great performance capabilites but typical GM doesn't showcase that with the propper style. If you know the car looks a lot like a GP or some say a Cavalier ( I don't see it but thats what I hear all the time) then why not go the extra mile to do the things needed to get the car as much appeal and respect as possible. 2 steps forward 1 step back.....
I'll wait for 06 till the ground up new GTO comes.

Remember what I said about Monaro's back seat last summer? Look at GTO's rear seat space: 37" of rear legroom and headroom!!
By comparison, the 4th gen has 29" of legroom and 35" headroom, Mustang has 30" & 36", and the bigger, full sized Impala has 37" & 38" respectively.
Not bad for a car that takes up as much space as a Mustang.

Its a great looking car! Very subtle but still looks the part. GTO heritage is the v8, rear wheel drive in an otherwise simplistic vehicle as in the old days. Sure this one has no scoops right now. but who cares its got the best performance of any GTO. Its a good looking car and will only get better from here!! And wow that stitching looks great to in the interior! Get impressed its a really nice car!

Will the build quality of the car go downhill compared to the Aussie car, or will the price just take a big jump up?

What do you think is going to happen to the car once it starts to get produced in the US?

I doubt a all-new GTO will be out in 2006 and even doubt it would come out in 2007 (when the new Camaro comes out hopefully) since the existing GTO can still be made while they ramp up and start production of the new Camaro for the first year and then bring out the all new GTO to be made in the same plant a year later as a 2008 model.
A two year life cycle of the current GTO just seems to short, but 4 years does sound more realistic and even that would be very short by historical standards.
A refreshening is one thing, a completely all-new car is another.

Since there was a relatively small investment in a few badges and a bumper cover, there isnt too much overhead in the current GTO... so a short life-span isn't really that crazy in this unique situation.
New cars for the first year are very low profit since there is so many costs/expense upstart costs, advertising, and etc.
Why dump the current GTO so soon and just when it really starting to become profitable since costs have finally been recouped.
This is why many car companies continue to sell the outgoing models along side the new model or replacement for at least a year or two. (examples: Caravan, Ford f-series trucks, S-10, Blazer, Escort, Malibu, and etc).
While most of these cars used as examples were kept in production to become low-priced fleet/rental cars so they could be sold cheap without deflating the value of the all-new cars that were replacing them. These outgoing models were also very reliable since most of all the problems had been worked-out over the years since all-new cars tend to have alot more problems during the first year and the new cars usually cost more to make.
