Did they lower the price on the current SS?, I remeber seeing a test where it was about 44k I thought, and then I saw recently where it bases at 35,999.

I feel they missed the boat without the SWB M6 version. Could have softened the loss of the Fbody for less than a SSR and GTO.

I hope GM doesnt go the way of Ford and fatten up their product. The SWB lightening was gonna weigh 5,000lbs and thats one of the reasons it was canceled.

Is there some proof that the 5.3L is goona make 355 and 380? Sounds really hard, especially on 87. ???

I could see the 5.3 making 355 on 97 if it utilized direct injection, and in conjuction with the new heads they are getting. I thought I remember reading that the heads are somewhat ls7 inspired, except designed to fit a smaller bore, with smaller valves. Is there any credibility to this? If this is the case, yeah I could see 355 hp for the 5.3. I do agree though, I can't really picture 380hp out of 5.3 on 87.

I can imagine 355 hp and 380 tq, if they put a hotter cam on there, with better springs and lighter valvetrain on there... and tweaks in intake and exhuast.

We all know its possible with the aftermarket.. Its just the matter of getting these parts mass produced and durability proven.
